  • • As a Principal, HEDIS Strategic Execution and Delivery at Humana, you will be at the forefront of enhancing the health outcomes and care experience for millions of members and provider partners. This pivotal role within the Health Quality and Stars (HQS) organization is dedicated to improving the quality of care delivered, with a specific focus on the operational execution and performance of Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) measures. You will be instrumental in accelerating cross-functional execution, ensuring strategic initiatives are consistently delivered, and driving operational rigor from concept to completion.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to lead the end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives, translating high-level strategies into actionable plans with measurable outcomes. This involves close collaboration with directors and senior leaders across various departments to ensure strategic alignment and effective implementation. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust operating rhythms, including structured processes for planning, prioritization, progress tracking, and regular updates to stakeholders.
  • • A key aspect of this role is the development and maintenance of comprehensive initiative roadmaps, meticulously outlining timelines, identifying critical dependencies, and defining clear delivery frameworks. You will be adept at creating compelling, executive-ready narratives and storyboards that clearly communicate initiative progress, potential risks, and necessary decisions. This requires a strong ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise, and visually engaging presentations that facilitate informed decision-making at the highest levels.
  • • You will proactively identify execution risks, potential bottlenecks, and resource gaps within initiatives. Based on these assessments, you will recommend and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure projects stay on track and achieve their intended objectives. Facilitating seamless alignment across different functional teams and project “swim lanes” will be crucial to ensure coordinated planning and integrated delivery, preventing silos and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • • Implementing strong accountability mechanisms is paramount. This includes rigorous milestone tracking, regular outcome reporting, and ensuring that teams are held accountable for their contributions and the achievement of defined success metrics. You will also support strategic exploration efforts by shaping pilot programs, defining clear success criteria, and guiding the execution paths for new ventures.
  • • Managing partner and stakeholder engagement effectively is essential for success. You will ensure clarity regarding roles, responsibilities, expectations, and deliverables, fostering strong working relationships built on trust and transparency. Furthermore, you will continuously seek opportunities to improve operational processes and execution methodologies, driving efficiency and effectiveness across the HQS organization.
  • • You will provide critical thought partnership to leaders, offering strategic advice on prioritization, sequencing of initiatives, and navigating complex tradeoff decisions. Serving as a central point of visibility for initiative status, progress, and interdependencies will allow for proactive management and risk mitigation. Ultimately, you will enable data-informed decision-making by providing structured reporting and insightful performance analysis, ensuring that strategic execution is grounded in evidence and measurable results.
  • • This role demands a highly self-directed individual with a strong sense of ownership, integrity, and authenticity. Cultivating and maturing strong relationships with corporate and market teams will be key to navigating the complexities of a large, matrixed organization. Your ability to influence without direct authority and to drive consensus will be critical in achieving Humana’s quality objectives and ensuring members receive the highest standard of care.
