📋 Description
- • As a Principal HR Business Partner at Rula Health, you will be a pivotal force within our People team, serving as a strategic advisor to our dynamic Engineering and Product (EPD) leadership. This role is designed for a seasoned HR professional who thrives on tackling high-impact people challenges and driving initiatives that are critical to our company's ability to scale effectively. You will be instrumental in shaping the employee experience for our technical teams, providing expert coaching and guidance on performance management, strategic talent acquisition, and robust career development frameworks. Your primary objective will be to cultivate an environment where our EPD professionals can do their career's best work, fostering innovation, productivity, and long-term engagement.
- • At Rula, we are committed to building a world-class organization where talent density is paramount to achieving our ambitious goals, including our 2026 objectives. You will leverage your deep functional HR expertise to lead significant, strategic projects that directly contribute to this mission. We are seeking a forward-thinking practitioner who can not only offer insightful strategic recommendations but also demonstrate a willingness to actively participate in the execution and implementation of these initiatives. This is a hands-on role that requires both strategic vision and a "roll-up-your-sleeves" mentality.
- • A core aspect of this role involves embodying and championing Rula's "Handle with Care" value. You will be expected to navigate the complexities of technical organizational dynamics with a high degree of empathy, fairness, and discretion. Building trust-based relationships with executive stakeholders, particularly within the Engineering and Product domains, is essential. Your proven ability to connect with technical leaders, understand their unique challenges, and provide tailored HR support will be key to your success. You will act as a trusted partner, offering guidance on organizational design, change management, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and psychological safety within these critical departments.
- • You will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the business objectives of the EPD organization. This includes partnering with leaders to define talent needs, develop effective recruiting strategies to attract top-tier engineering and product talent, and create programs that support employee growth and retention. You will play a crucial role in performance management processes, ensuring they are fair, effective, and aligned with our company values. This involves coaching managers on how to provide constructive feedback, manage performance issues, and recognize high performance.
- • Furthermore, you will be a key contributor to our talent development initiatives. This includes identifying high-potential employees, creating development plans, and facilitating career pathing discussions. You will work closely with leaders to ensure that our technical teams have the resources and opportunities they need to grow their skills and advance their careers within Rula. Your insights will be invaluable in shaping our approach to leadership development and succession planning within the EPD functions.
- • Data-driven decision-making will be a cornerstone of your approach. You will be expected to interpret complex people metrics and dashboards, identifying key trends in employee engagement, retention, and performance. Your ability to translate these insights into actionable recommendations and present them clearly to leadership will be critical. You will help us understand the "why" behind our people data and develop strategies to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
- • This role requires a proactive and adaptable HR professional who can thrive in a fast-paced, remote-first environment. You will be expected to manage multiple priorities, anticipate needs, and deliver results with a high degree of autonomy. Your ability to influence without direct authority and to build strong collaborative relationships across the organization will be essential for success. You will be a key advocate for our employees, ensuring their voices are heard and that Rula remains a place where everyone feels supported, valued, and empowered to do their best work.
- • You will also contribute to broader People team initiatives, bringing your unique perspective and expertise to projects related to compensation, benefits, employee relations, and HR technology. Your experience in navigating both high-growth startup environments and more mature organizational structures will be highly beneficial as Rula continues its growth trajectory. You will be a critical partner in shaping Rula's culture and ensuring it scales effectively with our business.

- • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex people metrics and dashboards, identify trends in engagement and turnover, and translate data into actionable recommendations.
- • Strong ability to build trust-based relationships with technical stakeholders and leverage coaching frameworks to empower leaders to solve problems independently.
- • Experience navigating both high-growth start-up environments and mature, large-scale organizations is highly preferred.
- • Proficiency in using frameworks like RAPID and RACI for clarifying roles and decision-making processes is a plus.
