• The Policy practice at Avalere Health is actively seeking a Principal with a primary focus on Medicare, Medicaid, and drug pricing policy. We are looking for a policy professional who excels at generating creative solutions for complex challenges, thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and is energized by collaborative work with highly motivated and knowledgeable colleagues.
• This role will engage deeply with the evolving landscape of federal and state policy discussions, particularly concerning drug pricing. You will analyze Medicare Advantage and Part D policy and payment structures, examine the changing benefit designs and coverage across public and private payers, and delve into Medicaid and other state-specific health policies.
• Your expertise will be crucial in assessing how this dynamic policy environment impacts various stakeholders within the healthcare ecosystem, including the pharmaceutical industry, managed care plans, providers, pharmacies, Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), and consumers.
• You will leverage deep subject matter expertise and a keen understanding of the business issues confronting our clients to provide critical insights and strategic guidance.
• Responsibilities will include providing comprehensive analytic support and advisory services. This encompasses developing legislative strategies, conducting in-depth regulatory analysis, and performing quantitative modeling of proposed and enacted policies.
• The Principal will work with a diverse range of clients across the healthcare industry, offering tailored solutions and strategic advice to navigate complex policy challenges.
• You will be expected to lead projects, manage client relationships, and contribute to the intellectual capital of the policy practice.

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive experience (typically 7+ years) in healthcare policy analysis, with a significant focus on Medicare, Medicaid, and/or drug pricing policy.
• Proven ability to develop creative solutions to complex policy challenges and translate them into actionable strategies for clients.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including experience with policy modeling and impact assessment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex policy issues to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
