📋 Description
- • As a Principal Specialist, Contracts at Collins Aerospace (an RTX company), you will play a pivotal role in shaping and managing complex government and commercial aerospace agreements that power advanced defense technologies, ensuring compliance, mitigating risk, and enabling mission-critical programs to deliver critical capabilities to warfighters and customers.
- • You will advise Contracts and Program leadership on contractual rights, obligations, and risks by conducting risk assessments, developing mitigation strategies, and proposing alternative approaches through redlines and negotiation strategies; serve as an authorized representative interfacing with customer buying command representatives; and provide contract administration support by reviewing, interpreting, and negotiating contract requirements, including assessing impacts of changes and modifications.
- • You will support proposal development, contract negotiations, and administration for assigned programs; prepare and defend FAR Part 12 Commercial Item Assertion Packages; ensure compliance with the Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA) through cost or pricing data sweeps and certification; and coordinate solutions to contractual issues while ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
- • You will lead or support internal and external audits related to proposals, contracts, and business system compliance; evaluate and coordinate proposal activities and significant contract changes involving cost, specifications, technical data, and schedule; support the Contract Manager by collecting data and compiling reports for corporate and Mission Systems-level data calls; and manage contract closeout activities, including U.S. Government property clearance and submitting required Contract Closeout Letters.
- • You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, and Program Management to navigate complex contract requirements, support audits and compliance activities, and resolve contractual issues throughout program execution; operate at the center of cross-functional program teams guiding contract strategy from capture and proposal through negotiation, award, execution, and closeout; and influence key business decisions as a trusted advisor to leadership.

🎯 Requirements
- • University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- • Prior experience supporting contracts within the Aerospace & Defense industry
- • Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS, including experience interpreting and applying these regulations within government contracting and procurement processes
