- • As a Prior Authorization Assistant at Ascertain, you will play a critical role in our new AI-powered prior authorization solution, processing high-volume authorizations while serving as a go-to resource for other team members and helping shape how prior authorization is transformed through artificial intelligence.
- • Day to day, you will review and verify insurance information and patient eligibility, communicate with healthcare providers to gather medical documentation, submit prior authorization requests to insurance companies, monitor and track requests for timely processing, respond to inquiries from providers, patients, and insurers, maintain accurate records of authorizations, collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and improve efficiency, and stay updated on insurance policies and industry trends.
- • Ascertain is building AI agents to automate administrative work that burdens care teams, operating in major health systems and large specialty groups to save hundreds of staff hours weekly, backed by Northwell Health and Deerfield Management, with a mission to restore time, trust, and focus to healthcare workers.
- • In this role, you will gain deep expertise in prior authorization workflows across multiple specialties, develop hands-on experience with AI-integrated healthcare technology, build leadership and collaboration skills by supporting teammates and engaging with leadership, and position yourself for growth into hybrid operations and technology roles as automation advances.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of experience with prior authorization and billing in Cardiology
- • Experience with athenahealth and/or NextGen
- • Familiarity with major payors including UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, etc.
- • Bonus: experience in client relationships
- • Bonus: hands-on leadership roles (e.g., Team Lead, Supervisor) with a roll-up-your-sleeves approach
- • Bonus: experience engaging with C-suite executives
