- • As a Prior Authorization Specialist at Phil, Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring patients receive timely access to high-cost specialty medications by managing insurance coverage verification and prior authorization processes.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include verifying patient insurance coverage via phone or online tools, submitting prior authorizations through electronic portals, troubleshooting submission issues with healthcare providers, assisting providers with appeals navigation, ensuring medical documentation is accurate and complete, compiling authorization trend data for education purposes, documenting activities in the company’s operating system, and collaborating closely with the Customer Support team to support patient success.

🎯 Requirements
- • Demonstrated experience working in prior authorizations, medical insurance billing, and/or health insurance (required)
- • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- • Ability to successfully navigate between multiple systems throughout the workday, including operational software and vendor portals
- • Access to reliable, high-speed internet to meet the needs of remote processing (required)
- • Proven team player with the ability to solve problems independently
- • Working knowledge of ICD-10 codes and prescription drug names (preferred, but not required)
