- • PAR Technology is seeking a dynamic and experienced Privacy & AI Governance Senior Manager to join our Information Security & Privacy team. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Information Security & Privacy, this pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping and executing our company's privacy and AI governance programs. As a global leader in restaurant technology for over four decades, PAR empowers more than 100,000 restaurants worldwide with innovative software and hardware solutions. Our commitment to excellence and our 'Better Together' ethos drive us to provide Unified Customer Experience solutions, encompassing point-of-sale, digital ordering, loyalty, back-office software, and industry-leading hardware. In this fast-paced, high-growth, cloud and SaaS-first environment, you will be a key player in embedding privacy and responsible AI governance into our product development lifecycle and overall business operations.
- • This role is critical for ensuring PAR navigates the complex and evolving global regulatory landscape concerning privacy, data protection, and artificial intelligence. You will translate these intricate requirements into clear, actionable, and scalable governance frameworks. As a B2B company serving enterprise clients, robust privacy and AI governance is not just a compliance necessity but a significant competitive differentiator. Your expertise will be crucial in earning and maintaining customer trust through credible and effective programs.
- • You will be a subject matter expert and a trusted partner, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including IT, Legal, Internal Audit, HR, and Research & Development product teams. Your ability to influence without authority, foster collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders across the entire company, and communicate effectively will be paramount to success. We are looking for an individual who embraces diverse perspectives, exhibits integrity, leadership, and possesses strong security domain expertise, sound technical acumen, good business acumen, creativity, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
- • Key responsibilities will include owning and operating privacy and AI governance program components within the broader information security and privacy program. This encompasses unified cybersecurity oversight, data privacy and trust framework management, third-party risk management, customer assessment and inquiry response, and the development and maintenance of our trust center. You will also be responsible for resolving related inquiries, ensuring compliance with global regulations, and promoting best practices.
- • As AI use across the company accelerates, you will take dedicated ownership to define standards, establish oversight mechanisms, and ensure accountability for the responsible development and deployment of AI technologies. The goal is to transition from reactive compliance to proactive leadership in privacy and AI governance, contributing significantly to the company's overall strategy in this domain.
- • You will play a vital role in enabling innovation rather than hindering it, striking a balance between robust risk management and business velocity. Your work will directly impact our ability to securely and responsibly leverage data, automation, and AI across our growing SaaS and hardware offerings. This involves understanding modern product development, data ecosystems, cloud services, SaaS architectures, hardware-software integration, and AI/ML use cases.
- • We expect you to be a continuous learner, an innovator, and a collaborator who thrives on helping people achieve more. The 'together, we win as a team' mentality is core to our culture, and you will embody this spirit in your daily work. Your ability to efficiently support the team's workflow, coordinate efforts, escalate issues appropriately, provide constructive feedback, and seek assistance when needed will be highly valued.
- • This position is designed for someone who can operate effectively in a remote-first environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills and self-discipline. Occasional travel (2-3 times a year) for team-building activities is expected, fostering stronger connections within the team and across the organization. You will be a key resource for the entire company, ensuring that privacy and AI governance are integrated into the fabric of PAR Technology's operations and strategic initiatives.
- • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building, operating, or scaling privacy and/or AI governance programs within technology-driven organizations, ideally in B2B SaaS or hardware sectors. A strong working knowledge of global privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA) and emerging AI governance standards is essential. You should possess a practical understanding of common regulatory frameworks and control standards such as SOX ITGCs, SOC II, PCI, CIS, and ISO27001. Your ability to partner cross-functionally and drive outcomes through influence will be a key measure of success in this role.
- • Ultimately, you will be instrumental in shaping PAR's future by ensuring we lead with trust, security, and responsible innovation in the rapidly evolving landscape of data and artificial intelligence. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on a growing, global technology company.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Security, Privacy, Law, Public Policy, Computer Science) or equivalent practical experience.
- • 3+ years of demonstrated experience building, operating, or scaling privacy and/or AI governance programs within a technology-driven organization, preferably in a B2B SaaS or hardware environment.
- • Strong working knowledge of global privacy and data protection laws and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, cross-border data transfer requirements) and emerging AI governance and regulatory standards.
- • Practical understanding of modern product development and data ecosystems, including cloud services, SaaS architectures, hardware-software integration, and AI/ML use cases.
- • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with security, engineering, product, legal, and business teams to drive outcomes through influence rather than authority.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and benefits package.
- • Opportunity to work remotely within the USA.
- • Be part of a fast-growing, innovative technology company with a strong market presence.
- • Professional development and continuous learning opportunities.
- • Collaborative and inclusive work environment that values diverse perspectives.
