  • • The Privacy and Information Governance Compliance Program Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for designing, implementing, and maturing the enterprise Privacy Program at American AgCredit, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements such as GLBA, GDPR, CCPA, and CPRA while safeguarding customer and employee data across all business functions.
  • • This role serves as the organization’s primary privacy subject-matter expert and liaison to internal stakeholders, regulators, auditors, and third-party vendors, driving compliance, risk mitigation, and cultural awareness in an evolving technological landscape including AI and cloud services.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include establishing governance frameworks using RACI models, developing and maintaining privacy policies and procedures, conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new products and technologies, managing data breach response protocols, and ensuring ongoing compliance through continuous monitoring and control testing.
  • • The role involves maturing the organization’s personally identifiable information (PII) inventory, overseeing data retention and secure destruction practices, and collaborating with Records Management and Legal teams to ensure accurate records and regulatory alignment.
  • • The manager leads training and awareness programs tailored to various roles, designs privacy metrics and dashboards for real-time monitoring, and partners with first and second lines of defense to validate compliance through control testing and corrective action planning.
  • • They proactively monitor regulatory changes, engage with external privacy advocacy groups and industry regulators, prepare regulatory examination materials, and serve on key risk committees including Geopolitical and Operational Risk Committees.
  • • The position requires managing the Privacy Program budget and resources, performing other duties as assigned by the Executive Head of Compliance, Ethics, and Regulatory Management, and operating with a wide span of control as the designated Privacy Officer despite having no direct reports.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive, hands-on experience in privacy, data protection, risk management, information security, or auditing, with strong preference for financial services background.
  • • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, information systems, or related field; Juris Doctorate preferred but not required.
  • • Hold certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, CIPP, CIPT, or CIPM; commitment to ongoing professional education required.
  • • Proven ability to operationalize complex privacy obligations under CPRA, CCPA, and other multistate regimes in large, matrixed organizations.
  • • Deep expertise in privacy regulations, personal data processing, and full data lifecycle management applicable to real-world scenarios.
  • • Demonstrated experience building risk-aware cultures, leading cross-functional partnerships, and communicating complex privacy concepts to senior leadership and Board.
