  • • This pivotal role, based in our Mumbai office, is instrumental in supporting the global execution of complex international power burner projects, demanding a unique blend of technical understanding and commercial negotiation skills.
  • • You will be responsible for the complete procurement lifecycle of C&I equipment and associated mechanical/electrical components, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • • This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a proven track record in strategic sourcing, vendor relationship management, and a deep understanding of the technical specifications relevant to the power generation and industrial combustion sectors.
  • • As a Procurement Engineer, you will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers who can meet Zeeco's stringent requirements for quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
  • • Your responsibilities will extend to developing and implementing sourcing strategies that optimize the supply chain for C&I components, including but not limited to, control valves, transmitters, analyzers, safety interlocks, PLCs, SCADA systems, and related instrumentation.
  • • You will conduct thorough market research to identify potential new suppliers, assess their capabilities, and establish robust relationships to ensure a competitive and reliable supply base.
  • • A key aspect of this role involves detailed technical review of project specifications, drawings, and requisitions to ensure accurate and complete procurement documentation.
  • • You will be tasked with preparing and issuing Requests for Quotation (RFQs), analyzing technical and commercial proposals, and leading negotiations to secure the best possible terms and conditions for Zeeco.
  • • This includes negotiating pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, warranties, and other contractual clauses to mitigate risks and maximize value.
  • • Effective vendor management is crucial; you will monitor supplier performance against contractual obligations, conduct regular performance reviews, and address any issues or discrepancies promptly to maintain high standards.
  • • You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Project Management, Engineering (both C&I and Mechanical/Electrical), Quality Assurance, and Logistics teams, to ensure seamless integration of procurement activities with overall project timelines and objectives.
  • • This cross-functional collaboration is essential for understanding project-specific needs, resolving technical queries, and ensuring that procured items meet all engineering and operational requirements.
  • • You will also be responsible for managing the entire purchase order lifecycle, from creation and issuance to tracking, expediting, and final closure, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant.
  • • Proactive identification and mitigation of supply chain risks will be a significant part of your role, including monitoring market trends, geopolitical factors, and potential disruptions that could impact project delivery.
  • • You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement department, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, reduce costs, and improve supplier performance.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Instrumentation, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (Instrumentation is strongly preferred).
  • • 6 to 12 years of experience in procurement, specifically focusing on Control & Instrumentation (C&I) and related mechanical/electrical equipment for industrial projects, preferably within the power generation, oil & gas, or petrochemical sectors.
  • • Proven experience in end-to-end procurement processes, including strategic sourcing, vendor evaluation, negotiation, contract management, and purchase order management.
  • • Strong understanding of C&I equipment specifications, technical drawings, and industry standards relevant to power burners and combustion systems.
  • • Excellent techno-commercial acumen with the ability to analyze technical proposals, understand cost structures, and negotiate effectively.
  • • Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for procurement activities and strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
