- • As the Product Lead for Lending at Airwallex, you will spearhead the creation and scaling of a new lending business from the ground up, directly impacting the company’s mission to build the global payments and financial platform of the future by enabling businesses to access credit seamlessly through embedded and first-party lending solutions.
- • You will own the full P&L for the lending product line, driving profitability and growth while aligning strategy with Airwallex’s broader goals, and reporting directly to the VP of Product, Risk & Onboarding in a high-visibility, strategic role.
- • Day to day, you will develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for both embedded lending/Lending-as-a-Service and first-party lending products, ensuring alignment with market opportunities and company objectives.
- • You will create and implement detailed business plans to establish and scale the lending and credit product line, including setting financial targets, managing budgets, forecasting performance, and driving sustainable business growth.
- • You will partner with global commercial teams and key customers to deeply understand their financial needs, identify high-value segments, and translate insights into product requirements that solve real-world SME banking challenges.
- • You will establish and nurture strategic relationships with external stakeholders such as banks, NBFCs, financial institutions, credit bureaus, and regulatory bodies to secure partnerships, ensure compliance, and support scalable lending operations.
- • You will collaborate closely with the credit risk team to design and implement robust credit risk policies, underwriting frameworks, and portfolio monitoring systems that balance growth with prudent risk management.
- • You will maintain a deep, up-to-date understanding of the SME banking and embedded lending landscape, including evolving market structures, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in fintech and alternative credit.
- • You will build, lead, and mentor a high-performing cross-functional team focused on lending and credit, recruiting top talent, fostering a culture of ownership and innovation, and developing team members to scale with the business.
- • You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with exceptional teammates across engineering, risk, compliance, and commercial teams, using data and first-principles thinking to iterate quickly and deliver impact.

🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of work experience, with significant time in fintech, financial services, or professional services, including proven ownership of financial products.
- • Demonstrated track record of building, scaling, and managing lending products (both embedded and first-party) with full P&L responsibility and financial acumen.
- • Strong leadership and team-building experience, including recruiting, mentoring, and managing high-performing cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
