đź“‹ Description
- • Are you a visionary Product Manager with a passion for exploring the uncharted territories of technology and its potential to revolutionize industries? Fundraise Up is seeking a pioneering Product Manager to lead our innovative 'Lab' initiative, a dedicated unit focused on high-risk, high-upside product exploration. This is a unique opportunity to operate at the forefront of innovation, identifying and validating bold new product opportunities that may not be obvious extensions of our current offerings. Your primary mission will be to reduce uncertainty and drive strategic learning, rather than simply shipping features. You will own promising ideas from their nascent stages through rigorous experimentation and validation, culminating in clear, data-driven decisions to either scale, pivot, or kill initiatives. Success in this role is measured by the speed of learning and the quality of your decision-making, not by the volume of output.
- • In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of digital fundraising by systematically exploring what's next. This involves identifying emerging opportunities driven by new technologies, advancements in AI, evolving data capabilities, and shifts in platform infrastructure. You will be adept at translating nascent signals and technical possibilities into well-defined product hypotheses, even in the absence of a clear buyer, established category, or explicit demand signal. Maintaining an organized exploration backlog, complete with identified risks, critical assumptions, and clear learning objectives, will be essential to your process.
- • A core aspect of your responsibility will be designing experiments and defining explicit 'kill criteria' before any development begins. You will frame each experiment around the single riskiest assumption, ensuring that learning is prioritized. The ability to select the appropriate fidelity for experimentation – whether it's a low-fidelity prototype, a technical spike, a 'wizard-of-oz' test, or a live pilot – will be crucial. The guiding principle will be to build 'just enough' to learn, avoiding any premature optimization or scope creep.
- • You will be responsible for executing fast-paced experiments and pilots with minimal scope, working collaboratively with Engineering, Design, Data, and Go-to-Market teams. Ruthless protection of learning speed and a commitment to avoiding premature optimization are paramount. The insights gained from these experiments will be synthesized into opinionated recommendations: Scale, Iterate, or Kill. You will clearly communicate what was tested, what was learned, and what remains unknown, ensuring that every experiment concludes with a decisive action and avoiding the perpetuation of 'zombie initiatives.' A key trait of this role is the willingness to kill your own ideas swiftly when the evidence suggests they are not viable.
- • When an opportunity demonstrates strong potential, you will prepare it for handoff to the appropriate teams. This includes presenting validated value and problem hypotheses, comprehensive evidence from experiments or pilots, clearly defined risks, assumptions, and success metrics, and a proposed ownership and scaling model. It's important to note that the Lab's focus is on exploration; ownership will be fully transferred once an initiative is ready for scaling, as the Lab itself does not run scaled products.
- • Operating with transparency is vital. You will maintain a visible Lab portfolio showcasing ongoing explorations, the rationale behind them, and the current signals. Publishing decision memos and learning summaries, and openly sharing learnings from failed experiments, will foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the organization.
- • You will leverage AI to accelerate learning across all stages of the product exploration process. This includes using modern AI tools for research, synthesis, prototyping, and experimentation. You will explore AI-enabled product ideas with a realistic perspective, considering factors like cost, latency, data requirements, and accuracy. A critical skill will be distinguishing genuine capability shifts from mere hype and helping others understand when AI truly accelerates learning.
- • Finally, you will be empowered to launch high-risk, high-signal initiatives. This involves selectively launching bold initiatives even when short-term adoption is uncertain, treating these launches as genuine product bets rather than mere demonstrations. These launches will serve to test future categories, shape market perception, and signal technical leadership. You will be explicit about the intent behind each launch: whether it's for learning, creating optionality, or external signaling.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years in product roles with proven 0→1 or exploratory ownership experience.
- • Demonstrated experience owning multiple high-risk bets with explicit go/kill decisions.
- • Experience where learning speed was prioritized over polish and output volume.
- • Comfort operating with real downside risk (time, opportunity cost, credibility).
- • Strong hands-on experience using AI as a product-building and exploration tool, including prototyping with LLMs or APIs.
- • Ability to realistically scope AI experiments considering data, cost, latency, and accuracy.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Stock options, providing an opportunity for equity participation.
- • Fully remote work flexibility, allowing you to work from anywhere in Spain.
- • 31 days of paid time off annually to recharge and maintain work-life balance.
- • Professional education budget to support continuous learning and skill development.
- • Home office setup assistance and co-working support to ensure a productive remote work environment.
