📋 Description
- • As a Product Policy Manager specializing in Cyber at OpenAI, you will shape how AI systems like ChatGPT and the OpenAI API are governed to enable legitimate cybersecurity work while preventing misuse for cyber abuse, operating at the intersection of AI capability, cybersecurity practice, and abuse prevention.
- • You will provide cyber policy advice to technical and product teams, evaluate cyber-relevant product launches and model capabilities for dual-use risks, translate threat risk into product requirements and enforcement standards, and develop operational protocols for cyber abuse scenarios such as vulnerability exploitation, phishing, and credential abuse.

🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, threat intelligence, incident response, abuse investigations, detection engineering, product policy, cyber policy, trust and safety, or a closely related field.
- • Strong technical fluency in one or more cyber domains such as vulnerability management, malware analysis, threat intelligence, incident response, phishing and credential abuse, detection engineering, secure software development, cloud security, identity and access management, or security automation.
- • Ability to evaluate dual-use cyber capabilities with nuance, distinguishing between legitimate security research, authorized defensive activity, risky automation, and malicious or abusive behavior.
- • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical risk to product managers, engineers, researchers, executives, and policy stakeholders, turning ambiguity into practical decisions and guidance.
- • Comfort with building new policy frameworks and processes in ambiguous or fast-moving environments, using data, threat intelligence, and operational signals to improve policy effectiveness.
🏖️ Benefits

- • Relocation assistance for new employees.
- • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI safety and policy challenges at a mission-driven organization.
- • Collaboration with world-class teams across product, engineering, research, safety, security, legal, and global affairs.
