- • Amplify Education, Inc. is seeking dynamic and experienced Professional Learning Specialists (PLS) to join their esteemed professional development team. This part-time, contractor role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant nationwide impact on educators and students, focusing on either Literacy or STEM programs. As a PLS, you will be instrumental in facilitating high-quality professional development sessions, empowering teachers and school leaders with the knowledge and confidence to effectively implement Amplify's research-based programs. This position is ideal for current educators, those transitioning from the classroom, or retired educators looking to leverage their expertise, develop adult facilitation skills, deepen their understanding of cutting-edge educational products, and connect with a network of fellow education leaders.
- • Your core responsibility will be to develop and maintain a deep level of expertise in a specific Amplify Literacy or STEM program, along with its associated professional development offerings. This involves a commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest pedagogical approaches and product updates.
- • A crucial part of the role is participating in a paid, comprehensive remote and onsite training program during May or June 2026. This intensive training will certify you as a Professional Learning Specialist, equipping you with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver impactful sessions.
- • During the summer season, typically from June to September 2026 (and potentially beyond), you will be responsible for delivering engaging professional development sessions to approximately 30-40 educators per session. These sessions will be conducted both remotely and onsite, requiring adaptability and excellent virtual and in-person facilitation skills.
- • A key aspect of the role is understanding the unique contexts and needs of each customer. You will tailor your delivery of professional development to ensure it is relevant, practical, and directly addresses the challenges and goals of the educators you are supporting.
- • This position offers significant opportunities for professional growth. You will hone your facilitation skills and expand your product knowledge through ongoing coaching, feedback, and internal training sessions, fostering continuous improvement and leadership development.
- • You will also be responsible for diligently tracking and completing all deliverables related to session logistics in a timely and organized manner, ensuring smooth operations and client satisfaction.
- • The role requires a strong understanding of adult learning principles and their practical application in adult learning experiences. You will need to demonstrate a robust knowledge of best practices for implementing high-quality instruction in math, science, or literacy, ensuring students can meet and exceed rigorous grade-level standards.
- • Exceptional technological proficiency is essential, including comfort with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Applications, and various video conferencing platforms such as Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. Your ability to navigate these tools seamlessly will be critical for remote session delivery.
- • You will need to possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, to effectively engage with educators, school leaders, and the Amplify team.
- • A high degree of comfort with ambiguity and the ability to respond confidently and effectively to in-the-moment challenges or concerns are vital for meeting customer needs and ensuring a positive learning experience.
- • Proven time management skills are necessary to effectively juggle multiple tasks, deadlines, and logistical requirements inherent in a contract role with varying demands.
- • While the primary focus is on summer delivery, there is a preference for candidates who have year-round availability beyond the summer season (October to April) for potential continued contract work, offering a pathway to more consistent engagement.
- • This role is structured as a contract position, meaning you will be employed through a staffing agency, not directly by Amplify. This provides flexibility while ensuring you are part of a professional network and contribute to impactful educational initiatives.
- • The role demands a commitment to professional standards, including adherence to district moonlighting or revolving door policies, and avoiding conflicts of interest with current teaching or leadership roles during the school year.
- • Successful candidates will be compensated competitively for their time, including onboarding, session preparation, travel, and direct facilitation, with clear rates provided for each activity.
- • The role requires flexibility in scheduling, with a significant commitment needed during the summer months, particularly from July 13th to August 21st, where a minimum of 3 days per week of in-person PD delivery is expected.
- • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US, reside within the US, and possess a valid US driver's license, with the expectation of living within 60 miles of a major metropolitan airport to facilitate travel.
- • Travel is an essential and required component of this role, involving overnight stays and transportation via various means, sometimes with short notice. All travel-related expenses will be initially covered by the PLS and subsequently reimbursed.
