- • The Program Officer will support the California Education Learning Laboratory (Learning Lab), a state-funded grant program administered by the Foundation for California Community Colleges, to improve learning outcomes and close equity gaps in STEM and other disciplines through innovative, faculty-led projects.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include developing new RFPs (15-20%), managing outreach and communications (10-15%), and overseeing RFP processes and programmatic alignment (55-65%), including research, stakeholder coordination, report development, and grantee onboarding support.
- • The Foundation for California Community Colleges (FoundationCCC) blends the impact of a non-profit, the culture of an entrepreneurial start-up, and the scale of a state agency, hiring experts across higher education, business, philanthropy, technology, and communications to strengthen California’s community college system.
- • In this role, the Program Officer will gain deep experience in state-funded grantmaking, higher education policy, workforce development, and intersegmental collaboration, with the opportunity to impact millions of Californians by expanding access to educational resources and economic mobility.
🎯 Requirements
- • Understanding of higher education systems, policies, research, and innovation in California
- • Knowledge of workforce development, regional economic development policies, and state agency administrative processes
- • Experience developing funding opportunities and translating grantmaking goals for UC, CSU, and California Community Colleges
- • Ability to conduct research, interviews, and serve as a primary point of contact for funding sponsors and agencies
- • Experience managing strategic outreach, drafting funding materials, and conducting webinars or office hours to promote applicant engagement
