- ⢠The Program Officer II role at FHI 360 is a mid-level project management position critical to the successful design, implementation, and monitoring of global health, education, and development programs. This position ensures that project activities remain aligned with strategic goals, timelines, budgets, and compliance standards while providing essential administrative, technical, and coordination support across diverse project portfolios.
- ⢠What the person will do day to day:
- ⢠Provides direct support to project management by leading meetings, preparing presentations, and synthesizing project progress data into clear summaries for stakeholders and leadership.
- ⢠Reviews and validates expense reports, invoices, and purchase orders in the finance system to ensure accuracy and compliance before managerial approval.
- ⢠Leads assigned project tasks, monitors timelines and deliverables, and oversees task completion to ensure alignment with work plans and project objectives.
- ⢠Contributes to business development and proposal writing by drafting sections such as project descriptions, management plans, and technical approaches, and supporting partnership engagement.
- ⢠Assists in budget development and monitoring by interpreting financial data, preparing sub-award packages, liaising with subcontractors, and supporting pre-award assessments.
- ⢠Ensures proper use of document management systems, liaises with funders on administrative requirements, and supports contracting processes as the primary administrative point of contact.
- ⢠May conduct onboarding for new team members on department procedures and serve as a mentor to junior staff, fostering team capability and knowledge sharing.
- ⢠Participates in external events related to the projectās technical area to represent FHI 360, gather insights, and strengthen partnerships.

- ⢠What the person can learn or achieve in this role:
- ⢠Develop advanced proficiency in full-cycle project management within international development contexts, including proposal development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
- ⢠Gain hands-on experience in cross-cultural communication, donor compliance (e.g., USAID, Gates Foundation), and adaptive problem-solving in dynamic, resource-constrained environments.
šÆ Requirements
- ⢠Bachelorās degree in Civil Society, Communication and Social Marketing, Economic Development, Education, Environment, Gender, Health, Nutrition, Research, Technology, Youth, or a related field.
- ⢠Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in project management principles and practices, preferably in NGOs, government agencies, or private sector organizations.
- ⢠Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; fluency in a host country language is required as appropriate to the project location.
- ⢠Strong project management skills including planning, time management, task breakdown, and resource coordination.
- ⢠Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to prepare timely reports and communicate professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- ⢠Working knowledge of project design concepts, practices, and procedures, including the ability to synthesize data and support proposal development.

- ⢠Competitive base salary range of USD 64,000ā74,000 annually for US-based hires, adjusted for location and experience.
