You will be an integral part of a Program Management Office (PMO) supporting a large and complex Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) contract, contributing directly to missions that matter.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to foster a highly collaborative and energetic team environment, ensuring that the team is focused on delivering high-value solutions efficiently and effectively. This involves cultivating a culture of shared ownership and continuous improvement.
- • You will be instrumental in driving effective sprint execution by ensuring that priorities are clearly defined, the team is strongly aligned with project goals, and disciplined Agile practices are consistently followed. This includes facilitating all Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives.
- • Enhancing transparency and accountability across the project lifecycle is a key aspect of this role. You will be responsible for the accurate documentation of sprint plans, release plans, team agreements, and retrospective outcomes, ensuring that all stakeholders have a clear view of progress and challenges.
- • Strengthening communication channels between various stakeholders, product management, and development teams is crucial for success. You will act as a key liaison, ensuring shared understanding of objectives, requirements, and progress, which leads to more successful project outcomes.
- • A critical function of the Scrum Master is to proactively identify and resolve conflicts within the team and escalate issues appropriately when necessary. This ensures that delivery momentum is maintained and impediments are removed swiftly.
- • You will empower development teams to take collective ownership of their committed work, spanning across analysis, development, testing, and documentation phases. This fosters a sense of responsibility and accountability for the end-to-end delivery of features.
- • Improving delivery predictability is a continuous goal. You will achieve this by diligently tracking team capacity and performance metrics, enabling data-driven decision-making for future sprints and releases. This includes monitoring key Agile metrics like velocity, burndown charts, and cycle time.
- • You will actively support the organization's Agile maturity by coaching teams on Agile principles and reinforcing Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles and continuous improvement practices. This involves mentoring team members and promoting a learning mindset.
- • This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks and dependencies that could impact sprint or release goals. You will work closely with the Product Owner and development team to ensure these are managed effectively.
- • You will contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and workflows, suggesting and implementing enhancements based on retrospective findings and industry best practices.
- • The Project Manager - Scrum Master will ensure that the team adheres to established coding standards, quality assurance processes, and deployment procedures, contributing to the overall robustness and reliability of the delivered software.
- • You will facilitate the creation and refinement of user stories, ensuring they are well-defined, estimated, and prioritized within the product backlog.
- • This position offers the opportunity to work on a significant government contract, contributing to a mission that impacts millions of citizens through improved healthcare services.
- • GDIT is committed to your professional growth, offering resources and support to help you advance your career within the company.
- • You will be part of a dynamic team that values collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
- • The role is 100% remote, offering flexibility and the ability to work from anywhere within the US, with specific working hours of Monday-Friday 9am to 5:30pm EST.
