As a high-performance, low-ego team, we thrive on urgency, collaboration, and bold thinking, tackling significant challenges with speed and a commitment to continuous improvement. This intense yet deeply rewarding environment is ideal for individuals driven to make a tangible impact.

We foster a culture where teamwork, ownership, and problem-solving are paramount. If these values resonate with you, Flock could be the place where your career takes flight.
  • • We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Public Affairs Manager to join our team, playing a pivotal role in shaping and executing our engagement strategies with external stakeholders. This position is crucial for enhancing public safety initiatives within the communities we serve. Reporting directly to the Director of Public Affairs, you will be instrumental in fostering collaboration with various cross-functional teams to build and maintain strong relationships with local elected officials, grassroots and grasstops organizations, and key community leaders.
  • • Your responsibilities will include acting as a primary external representative for Flock Safety. This involves regularly speaking at city council meetings, presenting compelling arguments, and effectively communicating our mission and the impact of our technology. A core aspect of this role is building and maintaining credibility across a diverse range of stakeholder audiences, from elected officials to community advocates. You will be tasked with developing meaningful partnerships that align with our strategic objectives and amplifying the voices of our customers and beneficiaries of our safety tools.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex political and community landscapes. You should excel at building rapport and fostering trust, demonstrating a genuine passion for advancing Flock Safety's mission and amplifying its positive impact on public safety. This role requires a deep understanding of local governance and community dynamics, with a focus on the Denver, CO area.
  • • Key responsibilities will include:
  • • Developing and executing strategic public affairs plans tailored to specific communities within your region, focusing on advancing Flock Safety's policy objectives and enhancing public safety outcomes.
  • • Serving as a primary point of contact and representative for Flock Safety in engagements with local elected officials, including mayors, city council members, and city managers, as well as county officials.
  • • Regularly attending and speaking at public forums, including city council meetings, town halls, and community events, to educate stakeholders, build support, and advocate for Flock Safety's solutions.
  • • Cultivating and nurturing strong, long-term relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders, including community leaders, neighborhood associations, business groups, and non-profit organizations.
  • • Collaborating closely with internal teams, such as Sales, Marketing, and Policy, to ensure alignment and support for public affairs initiatives and to gather insights for policy development.
  • • Crafting persuasive communication materials, including presentations, testimony, talking points, and policy briefs, that clearly articulate Flock Safety's value proposition and address community concerns.
  • • Monitoring local legislative and policy developments relevant to public safety and Flock Safety's operations, providing timely analysis and recommendations.
  • • Identifying and developing opportunities for strategic partnerships with third-party organizations that can amplify Flock Safety's mission and impact.
  • • Building and maintaining a sophisticated understanding of the regional political landscape at the city and county levels, including key influencers and decision-makers.
  • • Contributing to the development of bipartisan coalitions and creative strategies to advance public safety goals.
  • • Supporting the sales team by providing public affairs expertise and facilitating introductions to key local government contacts.
  • • Ensuring a consistent and positive external perception of Flock Safety through proactive engagement and responsive communication.
  • • Staying abreast of best practices in public affairs, community engagement, and public safety technology.
  • • This role demands a proactive, self-starter mentality with a solutions-oriented approach to challenges. You must be adept at working in a fast-paced, demanding environment, comfortable with ambiguity, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively. The ability to travel on short notice and work flexible hours, including evenings for council meetings, is essential. Your communication skills will be paramount, enabling you to convey complex topics clearly and persuasively to both expert and lay audiences through various formats, including written communication, community engagement, and formal presentations.
  • • We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment and encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply, even if you don't meet every single qualification. We believe in the power of diverse perspectives and experiences to drive innovation and success. Your passion for our mission and your ability to contribute to advancing public safety are key indicators of your potential fit with Flock Safety.
