- • Step into the epicenter of strategic storytelling at Jackson Spalding, an award-winning, independently owned PR powerhouse that Forbes has repeatedly named one of America’s best PR firms. From the moment you swipe your badge in May, you will be embedded on active client teams that protect and amplify the reputations of global icons such as Chick-fil-A, Delta Air Lines, Google, L.L.Bean, and The Coca-Cola Company. Over the course of a 12-week, fully paid summer internship (mid-May through August), you will experience every facet of integrated communications—media relations, social strategy, event activation, crisis counsel, and executive visibility—while producing work that is immediately published, presented, and measured.
- • Own high-impact deliverables from day one. You will draft press releases, media advisories, and story pitches that journalists across Texas and the nation will quote verbatim. Your briefing documents, executive talking points, and rapid-response Q&As will be used in earnings calls, on-camera interviews, and crisis simulations, giving you published clips and real-world case studies for your portfolio.
- • Master the art and science of research. You will build laser-focused media lists, mine social and traditional channels for emerging narratives, and translate data into actionable insights that shape launch angles, thought-leadership themes, and competitor positioning. Your weekly trend reports will land on the desks of VPs who will use them to pivot strategy in real time.
- • Monitor, measure, and move the conversation. Using Cision, Meltwater, Brandwatch, and proprietary dashboards, you will track client and competitor coverage, distill sentiment shifts, and compile KPI-driven recap decks that quantify reach, share of voice, and message pull-through. Your analysis will directly influence budget reallocations and next-quarter planning.
- • Plan and execute headline-grabbing events. From pop-up influencer experiences and press junkets to multi-market grand openings and ribbon cuttings, you will manage RSVPs, craft run-of-show documents, coordinate catering and décor, and serve as the on-site point of contact for media, ensuring flawless brand representation and maximum earned coverage.
- • Thrive in a hybrid rhythm designed for learning. You will spend three days each week in our sun-filled Dallas office collaborating with cross-functional teams and two days working remotely, mastering Asana for task tracking, Microsoft 365 for client-ready decks, and emerging AI platforms for rapid content ideation. If you already dabble in Adobe Creative Suite, you will be tapped to create quick-turn social graphics and presentation visuals.
- • Contribute bold ideas in brainstorms. Whether the challenge is reframing a corporate narrative around sustainability, launching a new product in a crowded market, or protecting a brand during a crisis, you will bring data-backed insights and creative sparks that senior strategists will pressure-test and refine with you.
- • Receive mentorship rooted in the five Cs—character, class, confidence, chemistry, and competency. Weekly 1:1s, shadowing opportunities, and candid feedback loops will accelerate your professional growth and may open the door to a full-time offer upon graduation.
