📋 Description

• As a QA Implementation Specialist for Vision AI Products at Distro, Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and real-world effectiveness of AI-driven video analytics solutions that empower multi-site operators in retail and restaurant industries to improve operations, increase revenue, and enhance customer experiences.
• You will serve as a vital bridge between product development and customer operations, validating new AI features before release and overseeing their successful deployment at customer sites, thereby directly contributing to product quality, customer satisfaction, and scalable implementation processes.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities will span two core domains: rigorous product QA in the development phase and hands-on customer implementation and validation, requiring you to operate with high ownership, technical curiosity, and meticulous attention to detail across complex hardware, software, and data systems.
• In Product Development QA, you will test new AI features prior to release, evaluating outputs from computer vision models and analytics pipelines to ensure accuracy and reliability; you will identify and document edge cases, failure modes, and inconsistencies—such as missed detections, false positives, or re-identification errors in employee tracking features—and quantify performance using structured validation methods like accuracy checks and pattern analysis.
• You will partner closely with engineering teams to triage issues, drive iterative improvements, and provide clear, actionable feedback that directly informs model refinement and product quality enhancements, ensuring that only robust, well-validated features progress to customer deployment.
• In Customer Implementation & Validation, you will configure and deploy AI solutions for new customer locations, including setting up point-of-sale integrations and validating camera configurations, data pipelines, and feature outputs for accuracy and readiness before handoff.
• You will perform end-to-end testing in live environments, tracing issues across hardware, video feeds, data transmission, and software configurations, collaborating with engineering, product, and operations teams to resolve problems independently or through coordinated effort.
• Your work will ensure a seamless transition to Customer Success by guaranteeing data quality and system reliability, giving teams confidence that deployed features perform as intended in real-world settings.
• You will build and refine internal processes to streamline the transition of matured features from product development to operations, helping scale implementations efficiently as the product portfolio grows.
• Success in this role requires strong systems thinking to understand how hardware (cameras, edge devices), software (AI models, analytics pipelines), and data flows (CSV, JSON, SQL) interact and impact overall system performance.
• You must demonstrate proven ability to identify root causes of issues, maintain high attention to detail when validating video and data outputs, and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfort in a fast-paced, iterative environment is essential, as you will continuously adapt to evolving features, customer needs, and technical challenges.
• While a technical background is a plus, the role values ownership, analytical rigor, and process-building mindset over specific prior experience, offering significant growth opportunities for those eager to deepen their expertise in AI product validation and deployment.
