📋 Description

• The Quality Control Associate (Diamonds) role at Nivoda Limited is critical to maintaining the integrity and reputation of the company as a leading global B2B jewellery marketplace, ensuring that every diamond, melee, gemstone, and jewellery item meets rigorous quality standards before reaching customers.
• This position directly supports Nivoda’s mission to deliver excellence in a traditionally conservative industry by upholding strict quality control processes that prevent defects, reduce supplier rejections, and enhance customer trust through consistent product performance.
• On a day-to-day basis, the QC Associate will ensure 100% of incoming diamonds, melee, gemstones, and jewellery orders undergo quality control inspection on the same day they are received, maintaining strict adherence to turnaround timelines and operational efficiency.
• The role involves conducting regular quality audits—both internal and external—to evaluate product performance, detect trends in defects or inconsistencies, and recommend data-driven improvements to QC methodologies and supplier processes.
• A key responsibility is collaborating closely with suppliers to identify root causes of quality rejections, providing actionable feedback, and working jointly to improve incoming material quality and reduce waste or delays in the supply chain.
• The QC Associate will investigate and resolve quality issues by performing root cause analysis, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and monitoring outcomes to ensure recurrence is avoided across product lines, especially melee and gemstones.
• Continuous process improvement is central to the role, requiring the associate to review existing QC procedures, identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies, and propose or implement enhancements that increase accuracy, speed, and reliability of inspections.
• There is a strong operational focus on melee diamonds and inventory management, including accurate sorting, grading, tracking, and storage to support seamless fulfillment from the Amsterdam hub.
• The associate will assist with logistics coordination for outbound shipments, ensuring that QC-cleared items are properly packaged, documented, and dispatched in alignment with delivery schedules and customer expectations.
• Working under the guidance of a senior gemmologist with 12 years of diamond grading experience, the QC Associate will benefit from mentorship and hands-on development in advanced grading techniques and industry best practices.
• The role is based in Nivoda’s Amsterdam office in Oude Meer, North Holland, operating Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, within a fast-growing, entrepreneurial team that values innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months hands-on experience with diamonds, gemstones, or melee in a quality control, grading, or related role.
• Preferred certification as a Certified Diamond Grader or equivalent formal education in gemmology.
• Strong practical experience in grading and quality control of melee, gemstones, and diamonds, including familiarity with industry standards and tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking, reporting, and analysis of QC metrics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document findings, present recommendations, and liaise with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to precision, ensuring thoroughness in inspection, documentation, and follow-up tasks.
