- • As a Recruiter for Forward Deployed Engineering at OpenAI, you will play a pivotal role in building the team that transforms cutting-edge AI research into real-world production systems, directly contributing to the mission of ensuring artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity.
- • You will partner with engineering leaders to design and execute hiring strategies that align with OpenAI’s ambitious technical and ethical goals, ensuring the organization attracts and retains world-class talent capable of bridging research and deployment.
- • Manage full-cycle recruitment for Forward Deployed Engineering roles, including proactive sourcing, pipeline development, interview coordination, offer negotiation, and closing candidates across global markets.
- • Collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand team objectives, technical requirements, and cultural fit, translating business needs into targeted recruitment campaigns and calibrated evaluation frameworks.
- • Employ advanced sourcing techniques using platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter, Ashby, and other modern tools to identify and engage passive, high-impact candidates, particularly those with expertise in software engineering, systems, and AI infrastructure.
- • Design and refine interview processes in partnership with hiring managers and interview panels, providing guidance on structured interviewing, bias mitigation, and competency-based assessment to ensure fair and rigorous candidate evaluation.
- • Partner with HRBP, Legal, and Compensation teams to ensure compliance with global employment regulations, equitable offer practices, and seamless onboarding experiences that reflect OpenAI’s values.
- • Champion an exceptional candidate experience at every touchpoint — from initial outreach to final decision — by maintaining timely communication, providing thoughtful feedback, and representing OpenAI’s mission with authenticity and warmth.
- • Continuously improve recruitment workflows by analyzing metrics, gathering stakeholder feedback, and iterating on processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and inclusivity in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- • Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers on talent market trends, employer branding, and best practices in technical recruiting, helping to strengthen OpenAI’s reputation as an employer of choice in the AI industry.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in-house at high-growth technology or AI-driven companies.
- • Proven success in hiring top-tier technical talent, particularly for engineering roles involving software development, systems, or AI infrastructure.
- • Proficiency with modern ATS platforms (e.g., Ashby) and sourcing tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, with ability to leverage data and automation to optimize outreach and pipeline management.
- • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to build trust and influence stakeholders across global teams and senior leadership.
- • Strong adaptability and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution.
