📋 Description

  • • As Regional In-House Counsel for Sartorius AG, you will serve as a strategic legal advisor supporting business functions across the United States and Canada, providing risk-aware, solution-oriented guidance that safeguards the company’s interests in a fast-paced, international life sciences environment. Reporting to the Head of Legal Affairs, Americas, you will collaborate closely with the global legal team and other Regional Counsel to ensure legal compliance, mitigate risk, and enable informed decision-making at all organizational levels.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities include delivering timely and commercially focused legal advice to minimize risk and support business objectives; overseeing compliance with internal policies, U.S. and Canadian laws, and relevant regulatory requirements; drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts including customer and supplier agreements, IP and software licenses, and R&D and marketing-related contracts; evaluating legal risks impacting operations and providing practical guidance for strategic decisions; managing complex legal matters involving multiple internal and external stakeholders; supervising litigation and directing outside counsel when necessary; conducting legal research and interpreting laws, rulings, and regulatory developments to produce actionable recommendations; and providing training to internal teams on legal and compliance topics.
  • • You will join Sartorius AG’s global legal team, a growing and dynamic function within a leading life science company listed on the German DAX and TecDAX, known for its mission to translate scientific discoveries into real-world medicines faster.   • • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in corporate and commercial law within an international, regulated industry setting; enhance your cross-border legal advisory skills; gain experience managing litigation and working with outside counsel; strengthen your contract negotiation and drafting capabilities in both English and Spanish; and contribute meaningfully to business outcomes while advancing your professional growth in a supportive, values-driven organization.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Active member in good standing with a state bar association on the East Coast of the United States
  • • Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate or commercial law, preferably in an international business environment
  • • Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish, with ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex legal contracts in both languages
  • • Proven track record as in-house counsel or equivalent advisory function
  • • Strong drafting, communication, and negotiation skills
  • • High level of integrity, sound judgment, analytical thinking, and interpersonal abilities
  • • Ability to manage high-volume, time-sensitive workloads in a dynamic environment
  • • Willingness to travel regionally and internationally (10-15%)
  • • Experience with Puerto Rican commercial laws is a plus
