- • Serve as the Regional Marketing Manager for Northern Europe, based in the Netherlands, driving Kobo’s eReader, accessory, gift card, ebook, audiobook, and subscription sales through retail channel partnerships.
- • Design and execute quarterly retail channel marketing strategies including point-of-sale (POS) marketing, online advertising, integrated campaigns, promotions, and direct sales account support.
- • Collaborate with physical and digital bookstore partners to co-develop and implement joint marketing initiatives that align with global brand priorities and regional sales targets.
- • Optimize Kobo’s physical retail footprint through training, merchandising, and on-site sales support to maximize product visibility and conversion.
- • Lead digital advertising efforts to increase brand awareness and drive customer acquisition across key online platforms in Northern Europe.
- • Participate in cross-functional planning for new hardware launches and software rollouts, ensuring regional marketing alignment with global product timelines.
- • Track, analyze, and report on campaign performance using data to inform future marketing investments and improve ROI across all channel initiatives.
- • Manage relationships with external agencies, retail partners, and internal brand and marketing teams at Rakuten Kobo headquarters to ensure cohesive execution.
- • Travel approximately 20% within the Northern Europe region to support partner engagements, retail activations, and team collaborations.
- • Act as a strategic and hands-on leader who balances creative campaign development with data-driven decision-making to deliver profitable growth.
- • Maintain deep alignment with Kobo’s mission of enhancing reading experiences by promoting digital content and devices to consumers in a competitive market.
- • Leverage fluency in Dutch and English to communicate effectively with local partners, agencies, and internal stakeholders; French is a preferred asset.
- • Demonstrate a genuine passion for books, reading culture, and consumer technology to authentically represent the Kobo brand.
- • Work within a fast-paced, remote-first environment that values innovation, work-life balance, and employee well-being.
- • Contribute to talent development through participation in weekly Kobo Tech University sessions and utilization of the dedicated training budget.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field
- • Minimum 5 years of experience in channel marketing, partner marketing, or regional trade marketing within consumer retail or e-commerce
- • Demonstrated experience managing marketing relationships with external retail partners and agencies
- • Strong understanding of digital marketing and advertising tactics
- • Fluency in Dutch and English; French is an asset
- • Proven ability to use data to translate marketing metrics into commercial insights
