- • Own the end-to-end reliability and test strategy for Laminar’s next-generation industrial IoT hardware—from first prototype spin to high-volume production and global field deployment—ensuring every sensor node and edge gateway exceeds the rigorous uptime and accuracy demands of Fortune-100 beverage, food, and chemical plants.
- • Architect, build, and continuously refine automated test fixtures and software scripts (Python/C/C++) that validate PCBAs, power systems, RF links, and mechanical enclosures; define clear pass/fail criteria, statistical sampling plans, and traceability matrices that feed directly into our ISO-9001 quality system.
- • Partner with electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineers during design reviews to flag reliability risks such as component derating, thermal hotspots, ESD susceptibility, and connector cycle life; translate findings into concrete design-rule checks and accelerated-life test protocols.
- • Lead root-cause investigations on any device that fails in the lab, on the manufacturing line, or at a customer site; use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, IR cameras, and environmental chambers to isolate failure modes, document 8D reports, and drive corrective actions that close the loop with design, CM, and supply-chain teams.
- • Establish a centralized defect-tracking and field-quality dashboard that ingests data from contract manufacturers, customer SCADA systems, and our own cloud analytics; turn raw logs into actionable KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, PPM) that guide sprint retrospectives and quarterly OKRs.
- • Travel up to 20 % to domestic and international plants (Unilever, Coca-Cola, AB InBev, Mitsubishi Electric) to troubleshoot edge cases, train maintenance teams, and capture environmental context that cannot be replicated in Greentown Labs—then feed those insights back into design iterations.
- • Balance the “move fast and break things” startup ethos with the zero-downtime expectations of process industries; champion risk-based decision making, FMEA, and Six Sigma methodologies to hit aggressive timelines without compromising safety or reliability.
- • Contribute to new-product-introduction (NPI) playbooks, supplier scorecards, and incoming-material inspection standards; mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of relentless curiosity, data-driven decisions, and customer obsession.
- • Champion sustainability by ensuring every test, rework, and field-replacement cycle minimizes waste, energy, and water usage—aligning daily engineering choices with Laminar’s mission to decarbonize the industrial backbone of our economy.
