📋 Description
- • As a Remote National Medical Director at Centene Corporation, you will serve as a clinical leader driving medical management, quality improvement, and credentialing functions for a business unit serving 28 million members, directly supporting the Chief Medical Director in shaping care quality and cost-effectiveness.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting medical reviews for complex or experimental services, leading utilization management and cost containment initiatives, performing regular rounds for high-risk patients, collaborating with clinical teams and providers on medical necessity appeals, and representing the business unit before state and national committees on medical policy and philosophy.
- • You will join Centene’s Medical Management/Health Services team—a diversified, national organization committed to workplace flexibility and innovation in healthcare delivery, where your expertise will influence physician education, provider network development, and clinical quality improvement initiatives across multiple markets.
- • In this role, you will deepen your impact as a physician leader by shaping organizational policies, reducing unwarranted clinical variation, advancing value-based care, and mentoring care teams while maintaining active clinical practice and contributing to national healthcare discourse.
🎯 Requirements
- • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
- • Board certification in a medical specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialists or American Osteopathic Association
- • Current, unrestricted state medical license as an MD or DO
- • Active clinical practice and experience in utilization management, quality improvement, or healthcare administration
