- • As the Repair Supervisor for Dyson in Ireland, you will be instrumental in leading a dedicated team of three individuals, fostering an environment of high performance and operational excellence within our Service Workshop located in Rathcoole, Ireland.
- • Your primary objective will be to drive the workshop's performance, ensuring it consistently meets and exceeds key repair KPIs, which are meticulously aligned with Dyson's stringent global standards. These critical metrics include, but are not limited to, Turnaround Time (TAT), First-Time-Fix (FTF) rates, overall repair completion percentage, Repair Ease, and Net Promoter Score (NPS), all contributing to an exceptional customer experience.
- • This role demands a proactive and hands-on approach to people management, where you will be responsible for the day-to-day guidance, coaching, and development of your direct reports, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and motivation to achieve their individual and collective goals.
- • You will champion operational excellence, meticulously overseeing all aspects of the repair process to guarantee efficiency, quality, and adherence to best practices. This includes embedding robust health and safety procedures, ensuring risk assessments are current, and developing, maintaining, and clearly communicating departmental policies and procedures.
- • A significant part of your responsibility will involve diligent parts and budget control. You will act as the primary point of contact for both external suppliers and internal stakeholders, including supply chain and finance partners, to ensure the seamless and timely fulfillment of spare parts required for repairs, replacement equipment, and essential office supplies.
- • You will maintain vigilant oversight of consumable stock levels, engage in proactive parts forecasting to anticipate future needs, and manage the onboarding of new parts necessary for the integration of new product lines into the repair workflow.
- • Your financial acumen will be crucial as you manage all part orders and Purchase Orders (POs) in strict accordance with regional processes, ensuring that quality, cost-effectiveness, and delivery timelines are consistently met. You will also manage the departmental budget and PO requirements, operating strictly within the financial guidelines provided by the Finance Business Partner.
- • To enhance team flexibility and responsiveness to the dynamic nature of daily repair demands, you will maintain an up-to-date skills matrix for your team, identifying training needs and facilitating cross-skilling opportunities.
- • You will critically evaluate existing production equipment, making informed decisions to optimize its utilization and setting clear workload priorities to maximize overall workshop efficiency.
- • Data will be your ally; you will leverage key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress, identify areas for improvement, and guide strategic decision-making, fostering a data-driven culture within the team.
- • Building and nurturing strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues on-site and with external partners will be paramount to the success of the workshop.
- • You will own all aspects of training and development for your team, ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are current, training records are meticulously maintained, and compliance with new standards, including Health & Safety regulations, is rigorously upheld.
- • Conducting regular one-on-one meetings and structured performance reviews (both quarterly and yearly) will be a core part of your people management strategy, providing consistent feedback and support.
- • You will lead timely and relevant team meetings, ensuring clear and effective communication of objectives, updates, and any changes to processes or policies.
- • A key aspect of your role will be to anticipate, manage, and resolve employee relations issues with a proactive, root-cause analysis approach, ensuring a fair and productive work environment.
- • You are expected to go beyond the immediate remit of your role, taking on additional activities that align with the overall purpose of the team and the company. This includes proactively identifying and fixing issues, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and demonstrating a commitment to problem-solving by identifying root causes and delivering effective, sustainable solutions.
- • The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in implementing lean methodologies and process improvement initiatives, demonstrating a clear ability to drive efficiencies within an operational or service environment. This role is office-based, requiring direct on-site presence and leadership.
