- • Serve as the primary Revenue Accountant responsible for accurate and timely revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 and other applicable accounting standards.
- • Manage the full revenue cycle including contract review, revenue scheduling, journal entries, and reconciliation of deferred revenue and accounts receivable.
- • Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and Customer Success teams to analyze complex customer contracts and determine appropriate revenue recognition timing and patterns.
- • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports for internal stakeholders and external auditors, ensuring alignment with GAAP and company policies.
- • Maintain and improve internal controls related to revenue accounting processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness.
- • Identify and implement process improvements to automate revenue recognition workflows and reduce manual effort across billing and accounting systems.
- • Work closely with the Finance team to support month-end and year-end close activities, including revenue accruals, deferrals, and variance analysis.
- • Assist in preparing documentation and supporting materials for external audits, including providing audit trails and responding to auditor inquiries.
- • Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements related to revenue recognition and communicate impacts to the finance team.
- • Ensure accurate recording of revenue in the company’s ERP system, maintaining proper documentation for all revenue transactions.
- • Support the preparation of financial statements and related disclosures with a focus on revenue-related line items.
- • Coordinate with billing and collections teams to resolve discrepancies between invoicing and recognized revenue.
- • Participate in cross-functional projects related to pricing, contract changes, and new product launches that impact revenue recognition.
- • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Gurobi’s product offerings and licensing models to accurately apply revenue recognition rules to software subscriptions, perpetual licenses, and professional services.
- • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting on revenue trends, customer cohorts, and contract performance to support business decisions.
- • Ensure all revenue-related documentation is properly archived and accessible for audit and compliance purposes.
- • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external parties regarding revenue accounting questions and inquiries.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- • Minimum of 3 years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably in a SaaS or software technology company
- • Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and GAAP revenue recognition standards
- • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and financial reporting tools
- • Experience with contract analysis and revenue scheduling for multi-element arrangements
- • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
