• • Acorns is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Risk Management Analyst to join our dynamic financial risk team. This pivotal role is instrumental in safeguarding Acorns' mission to champion the financial well-being of everyday people and families by developing and implementing robust, scalable strategies that effectively mitigate risks inherent in money movement and our innovative referral programs. You will be a key player in driving growth while meticulously balancing the impact of risk mitigation strategies on the overall customer experience, ensuring that our commitment to our users remains paramount.
• • As a Risk Management Analyst, you will be deeply integrated within our Banking and Investment product agile teams. Your primary focus will be to embed risk-based decision-making into the core of our company culture and operational processes. You will act as a proactive, solutions-oriented partner, dedicated to ensuring that our mission of looking after the financial best interests of the up-and-coming is rigorously protected by sound risk discipline and forward-thinking strategies.
• • A core responsibility will be the **Strategy & Implementation** of risk mitigation. This involves developing, implementing, and continuously maintaining scalable strategies designed to address and reduce financial risks associated with critical areas such as money movement (deposits, withdrawals, transfers) and our diverse referral programs. You will be expected to innovate and adapt these strategies as the business evolves.
• • **Cross-Functional Collaboration** is essential for success in this role. You will cultivate and nurture strong, collaborative relationships with a wide array of stakeholders across key departments including Banking, Invest, Analytics, Data Science, and Product teams. This collaboration ensures that risk strategies are not only effective but also seamlessly aligned with broader company growth objectives and product roadmaps.
• • You will leverage **Data-Driven Decision Making** by querying complex data environments to transform raw, often voluminous, data into clear, actionable insights and automated processes. A significant part of your role will be to enhance the analytical rigor applied to key initiatives, directly influencing the Risk and Product roadmaps and ensuring that decisions are grounded in empirical evidence.
• • **Monitoring & Optimization** will be a daily focus. You will define, meticulously monitor, and report on critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Proactive escalation of any anomalies or deviations from expected performance is crucial. You will drive continuous improvements in loss budgets and financial performance, always with a keen eye on balancing risk reduction with minimizing customer friction and false-positive rates.
• • **Infrastructure Support** requires developing a profound understanding of the technical infrastructure that underpins our core products. This knowledge will enable you to effectively identify potential vulnerabilities, assess their impact, and collaborate with engineering teams to implement necessary safeguards and address risks proactively.
