Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • The Risk Manager at Compass Surgical Partners plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the organization’s financial and operational stability by designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-wide insurance and risk-financing programs across all lines of business. This role is essential to protecting assets, ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making in a fast-growing, nationally recognized ambulatory surgery center (ASC) development and management partner.
- • In this 50% FTE hybrid/remote position, you will manage a comprehensive portfolio of commercial insurance lines including general liability, property, workers’ compensation, D&O, EPLI, cyber liability, umbrella/excess, commercial auto, and fiduciary liability. You will lead the annual renewal process, analyze claims data, maintain the risk register, oversee non-clinical claims, ensure compliance with lender covenants and joint venture obligations, and serve as the primary liaison with brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators. Your work will directly contribute to mitigating exposure across property, operations, and corporate activities while supporting Compass’s mission to build high-performance ASCs through physician and health system partnerships.
- • You will join a mission-driven team at Compass Surgical Partners, a leader in ASC joint ventures with over 250 centers developed over three decades. The organization operates with clear outcomes, agility, and a strong culture grounded in STAR values—Service, Teamwork, Accountability, and Respect. As a Risk Manager, you’ll collaborate with executive leadership, legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure risk programs align with business objectives and contractual requirements across a national footprint of ASCs.
- • This role offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in healthcare-specific risk management, particularly within the ASC and ambulatory care space. You will gain experience managing complex, multi-line insurance programs for a growing national portfolio, refine your skills in claims analytics and litigation support, and develop strategic influence by advising senior leadership on risk mitigation, insurance optimization, and compliance with CMS conditions, ASC licensure, and lender requirements. Your contributions will help protect the organization’s reputation and financial resilience while supporting scalable, high-quality patient care delivery.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; ARM or CPCU certification preferred
- • 5+ years of progressive experience in commercial risk management or insurance program administration, with healthcare or multi-site organization experience strongly preferred
- • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-line insurance programs including property, casualty, workers’ compensation, D&O, EPLI, cyber, and fiduciary liability lines
- • Strong analytical and quantitative skills to interpret loss data, evaluate coverage terms, and support data-driven risk mitigation strategies
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with comfort presenting to senior leadership and negotiating with brokers and carriers
- • Highly organized, self-directed, and capable of managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision in a hybrid/remote work environment
🏖️ Benefits
- • Hybrid/remote work arrangement with less than 10% travel required, offering flexibility and work-life balance
- • Part-time schedule of approximately 20–25 hours per week, allowing for professional engagement while maintaining personal commitments
- • Opportunity to work with a nationally recognized leader in ASC development and management, contributing to meaningful healthcare infrastructure projects
- • Exposure to enterprise-level risk management in a growing organization with over 250 ASCs under management
- • Collaborative, values-driven culture rooted in Service, Teamwork, Accountability, and Respect (STAR)
- • Professional development through engagement with complex insurance programs, claims oversight, and regulatory compliance in healthcare settings
