  • • As a Sales Account Manager at Smithfield Foods, you will drive sales growth by introducing and placing new products with customers, executing business initiatives, and managing long-term account relationships in a fast-paced consumer packaged goods environment.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities include achieving budgeted sales targets, maintaining and growing existing accounts, communicating product availability and pricing, resolving customer issues, and collaborating cross-functionally with teams from Business Management to Plant Operations.
  • • Smithfield Foods is a leading American food company with a strong market position in packaged meats and fresh pork, committed to employees, animal welfare, environmental stewardship, and community impact, offering a culture where meaningful careers can grow.
  • • In this role, you will develop expertise in food industry sales, strengthen customer relationship management, gain experience with data-driven selling using IRI and Nielsen, and build a career path supported by leadership from Sales Directors and Regional Managers.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination
  • • Knowledge of the dynamics of the food business industry or retail channels
  • • Experience with customer-focused and fact-based selling, including IRI, Nielsen, and Perishable Group data
  • • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • • High level of written and verbal communication, organizational planning, and adaptability
  • • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 80% of the time
