Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As an early Sales Development Representative at Pulley Inc., you will play a pivotal role in accelerating the company’s go-to-market strategy by identifying and engaging prospective customers in the commercial construction and permitting space. Your work will directly contribute to reducing delays in high-stakes projects across industries such as retail, data centers, and EV infrastructure, helping Pulley deliver on its mission to bring predictability to a notoriously fragmented and slow permitting process.
- • You will be instrumental in building the foundation of Pulley’s sales pipeline, working closely with experienced SDRs, Account Executives, and company founders to refine outreach strategies and gain deep exposure to both sales execution and the complex permitting challenges the company solves.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include researching and identifying target accounts among developers, owners, architects, and general contractors; executing outbound email campaigns and making cold calls to initiate conversations; preparing for and following up on sales meetings with precision; representing Pulley at industry events to expand market presence and forge new relationships; and actively contributing to the evolution of sales best practices by sharing insights and helping refine prospecting frameworks.
- • You will join a mission-driven, early-stage startup backed by top-tier investors including CRV, Susa Ventures, and Fifth Wall, and led by founders with proven track records at companies like Plaid, Segment, ServiceTitan, and Procore. The team is deeply committed to solving one of the most persistent bottlenecks in commercial development—permitting—through a combination of domain expertise and AI-powered innovation.
- • In this role, you will develop core sales competencies such as prospecting, communication, objection handling, and pipeline management, while gaining invaluable industry knowledge about construction, real estate development, and regulatory processes. You’ll have the opportunity to grow into a full-cycle sales role, influence the scaling of Pulley’s sales organization, and make a tangible impact on how quickly breaking ground happens for major national brands and infrastructure projects.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment with strong self-motivation, curiosity, and a drive to exceed goals and quotas
- • Comfortable and effective at making cold calls and engaging prospects via outbound email with persistence and professionalism
- • Quick learner who can rapidly master new technologies, sales tools, and industry-specific knowledge related to construction, permitting, and commercial real estate
- • Skilled at researching and identifying high-potential target accounts and developing structured prospecting plans with guidance from the revenue team
- • Excited to work in-person from Pulley’s New York City office and collaborate closely with a tight-knit, high-impact team
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to work directly with founders and experienced sales leaders in a high-growth startup backed by prominent venture capital firms
- • Hands-on experience shaping sales processes and best practices in a nascent market with significant upside
- • Exposure to cutting-edge AI applications in the commercial construction and permitting industry
- • Professional development in sales techniques, market analysis, and client engagement within a mission-driven environment
- • In-person collaboration in Pulley’s NYC office, fostering strong team connections and mentorship opportunities
