- • As a Sales Development Representative at Planet Labs, you will drive pipeline growth and create new business opportunities in the commercial sector by focusing on outbound prospecting, identifying potential customers, and engaging key decision-makers to generate high-quality sales opportunities.
- • Day to day, you will proactively identify and engage potential customers through personalized emails, cold calls, social selling, and industry events; develop and execute strategic outreach; understand industry trends and customer pain points to position solutions effectively; qualify leads and opportunities; collaborate with Account Executives and marketing to refine messaging and optimize pipeline conversion; and monitor and report on pipeline activity to provide insights and forecasts to sales leadership.
- • Planet Labs designs, builds, and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites in history, delivering an unprecedented dataset of empirical information via a cloud-based platform to commercial, environmental, and humanitarian sectors globally. The company combines space and data expertise with a people-centric culture, employing experts across domains in remote and office locations worldwide, including San Francisco, Washington DC, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, and The Netherlands.
- • In this role, you will develop strong outbound sales skills, gain exposure to strategic account development, work closely with industry-leading professionals in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and have the opportunity to exceed sales targets while contributing to Planet’s mission of using space to help life on Earth.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2+ years of experience in sales development, business development, or relevant sales experience
- • Ability to generate pipeline through outbound prospecting, including cold calling and multi-channel outreach
- • Good research and account-mapping skills, with the ability to identify key decision-makers and uncover business needs
- • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages that drive engagement
- • Experience using CRM and sales engagement tools (Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar platforms)
- • Ability to work independently in a dynamic, target-driven environment
- • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Environmental Science, or other relevant major
