- • As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) focused on the SMB segment in Japan, you will play a pivotal role in fueling Deel’s rapid growth by identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective customers who are seeking to hire, pay, and manage global teams compliantly. Your work directly contributes to building the sales pipeline that powers Deel’s mission to unlock global opportunity for every person, team, and business—making you a key driver in expanding access to Deel’s all-in-one HR and payroll platform across one of the world’s most dynamic economies.
- • On a day-to-day basis, you will generate new business opportunities through strategic inbound and outbound prospecting across email, phone, LinkedIn, and other social channels, crafting personalized outreach sequences that resonate with Japanese SMB decision-makers. You will research and qualify leads by uncovering their specific HR, payroll, compliance, and scaling challenges, then educate and nurture them through the buyer’s journey toward qualified meetings with Account Executives. You will maintain precise activity and lead data in CRM and sales engagement tools, collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to refine messaging and workflows, and actively pursue cross-sell or expansion opportunities within existing accounts when aligned with your segment. You will consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for qualified meetings, Sales Qualified Opportunities, and pipeline contribution, while participating in ongoing training, coaching, and skill development to sharpen your sales acumen in a high-growth, remote-first environment.

- • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in B2B sales development within the HR tech and fintech spaces, mastering advanced prospecting techniques, CRM automation, and consultative outreach strategies tailored to the Japanese SMB market. You’ll gain hands-on experience with AI-powered sales tools, refine your cross-cultural communication skills, and build a track record of driving measurable revenue impact—positioning you for rapid advancement into senior sales, account management, or sales operations roles within Deel or across the global tech industry.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in sales development, business development, or outbound commercial roles, with a track record of meeting or exceeding activity and pipeline-generation targets.
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese, with the ability to craft compelling, personalized outreach messages and engage prospects effectively across email, phone, and social channels.
- • Highly organized, self-motivated, and adept at managing multiple priorities and outreach sequences simultaneously in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment.
- • Comfortable working autonomously, taking initiative, and sourcing solutions independently while collaborating effectively with Account Executives, Marketing, and Customer Success teams.
- • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales engagement tools (e.g., Outreach, SalesLoft) is a plus.
- • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong growth orientation, adaptability to evolving processes, products, or market focus, and a genuine interest in HR tech, fintech, or high-growth startup environments.
