- • As a Sales Engineer at Astronomer, you will be a key technical partner in the sales process, helping data teams unlock the value of their data through the Astro platform powered by Apache Airflow. You will partner with Account Executives to lead technical discovery, deliver compelling demos and proof-of-concepts, and guide customers in adopting modern DataOps strategies that drive business outcomes.
- • Day to day, you will lead technical sales motions including discovery calls, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept implementations; build and deliver tailored demos using Python, Airflow, and related tools; translate customer pain points into high-impact technical solutions aligned with business value; advise customers on DataOps best practices spanning orchestration, observability, and automation; and collaborate with product and engineering teams to influence product roadmaps based on field feedback.
- • You will join a fast-growing, mission-driven team at Astronomer, the company behind Astro—the industry-leading unified DataOps platform trusted by over 800 global enterprises including Condé Nast, Rappi, and Sonos. The company is expanding its Sales Engineering function to support the adoption of DataOps as a first-class discipline in modern data organizations.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in modern data stack technologies, strengthen your ability to bridge technical and business conversations, and gain experience shaping go-to-market strategy through direct customer and cross-functional collaboration—positioning you for growth into senior technical sales, solutions architecture, or product-focused roles.
🎯 Requirements
- • Python fluency, CLI comfort, and experience building with tools like Docker
- • Familiarity with cloud-native data architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- • Understanding of data engineering workflows: orchestration, ELT/ETL, DAGs, CI/CD
- • Exposure to platforms like Airflow, Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, dbt, or similar
- • 3–10 years total experience, including 2+ years in a customer-facing technical role (Sales Engineering, Solutions Architect, etc.)
- • Strong communication skills across technical and business stakeholders
