- • As the first German-speaking Sales Manager at Whatnot, you will play a pivotal role in scaling the company’s presence in the German-speaking market by building and leading a high-performing international sales team, directly contributing to revenue growth and market expansion in one of Europe’s most dynamic e-commerce landscapes.
- • You will report to the Head of Categories and Expansion (Europe) and serve as a strategic executive partner to the European leadership team, ensuring alignment between sales initiatives and broader company objectives while driving accountability across the full sales lifecycle.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include owning and executing a data-driven sales strategy, collaborating closely with Marketing, Product, Finance, and Operations to create a unified revenue function, and translating company targets into actionable plans for sales management at all levels.
- • You will build and optimize a scalable sales engine by refining sales operations, implementing predictable and repeatable sales roadmaps, and leveraging forecasting, OKRs, and performance metrics to improve pipeline velocity and booking accuracy.
- • A core part of your role will involve developing talent — acting as a player-coach to inspire, mentor, and uplift your team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
- • You will maintain deep expertise in both B2B and B2C use cases across Whatnot’s diverse product categories (including trading cards, fashion, electronics, and live plants), enabling you to anticipate customer needs and tailor solutions that solve real business problems for sellers.
- • By harnessing data to refine go-to-market strategies, you will help shape a scalable playbook that enhances forecast accuracy, drives accountability, and supports sustainable revenue growth across the German-speaking region.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in sales leadership, preferably managing international or European sales teams, with a track record of driving revenue growth and building scalable sales processes.
- • Fluency in German (spoken and written) is required to effectively engage with sellers, partners, and internal stakeholders in the German-speaking market.
- • Strong background in B2B or marketplace sales, ideally within e-commerce, live shopping, or platform-based business models, with experience collaborating across Marketing, Product, Finance, and Operations.
- • Demonstrated ability to use data and analytics to inform strategy, improve forecasting, and drive accountability through OKRs, reporting, and performance tracking.
- • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing sales talent, with a player-coach mindset focused on team empowerment and performance improvement.
- • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment where you can help define processes and shape go-to-market strategies from the ground up.
