- • Lead the expansion of WeTravel’s presence in South Africa by building and scaling a high-performing sales team from the ground up, turning early traction into sustainable, structured growth in a dynamic and emerging market.
- • Roll up your sleeves to engage directly with prospects and existing clients, conduct deep discovery, and develop a nuanced understanding of the South African travel tech landscape to inform strategy and coaching.
- • Manage and develop a team of 4 Account Executives, with plans for further growth, by providing hands-on leadership, coaching, and performance feedback rooted in real deal experience.
- • Shape the sales approach for the region by translating market insights into actionable strategy, playbooks, and best practices that reflect local customer needs and business outcomes.
- • Collaborate closely with global leadership and cross-functional teams to align on goals, share learnings, and ensure consistency in brand, product positioning, and go-to-market execution.
- • Drive revenue growth through a balance of strategic planning and tactical execution, including personal involvement in deals when needed to model best practices and unblock opportunities.
- • Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and high performance by encouraging open feedback, celebrating wins, and addressing challenges constructively.
- • Represent WeTravel in the market as a trusted advisor and thought leader, building relationships that support long-term brand affinity and customer loyalty.
- • Grow professionally by leading a nascent market initiative, gaining end-to-end experience in international sales leadership, market entry, and team building within a fast-growing, mission-driven tech company.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience as an Account Executive with a track record of winning complex deals end-to-end, not just managing sales processes from a distance.
- • Demonstrated passion for developing people, with genuine satisfaction derived from coaching, mentoring, and seeing team members grow and succeed.
- • Comfort and willingness to jump into live deals, prospecting calls, and customer conversations when needed, rather than waiting to be asked or relying solely on reports.
- • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, creating structure and strategy through direct customer interaction and iterative learning.
- • Strong business acumen, thinking in terms of customer problems, outcomes, and value — not just product features or sales scripts.
- • Direct, honest, and constructive communication style, especially in feedback conversations, with a focus on driving improvement and accountability.
- • Deep curiosity about markets and customers, enjoying the process of understanding local dynamics, spotting patterns, and translating insights into team behavior.
