📋 Description

  • As a Sales Representative for Avantor in the San Francisco East and South Bay region, you will maintain and grow sales efforts in Pharma, Biotech, and Industrial markets by selling a comprehensive portfolio of products and services to researchers, scientists, and operational staff.
  • Day to day, you will own and grow your defined sales territory by developing and executing strategic sales plans, prospecting and acquiring new customers, retaining existing accounts, and collaborating with product specialists and sales leadership to support customer success through consultative selling.
  • You will join a global team of 14,000+ associates at Avantor, a company committed to enabling scientific discovery and innovation through mission-critical solutions, with a strong focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and employee growth.
  • In this role, you can develop expertise in consultative selling methodologies (such as SPIN, Challenger, Miller Heiman), deepen your scientific and technical product knowledge, and advance your career through performance-based incentives and professional development opportunities within a supportive, inclusive culture.

🎯 Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent/applicable experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a complex sales environment with solution-based selling and multiple stakeholders involved in purchasing decisions
  • Proven track record of verifiable sales success using a consultative, strategic selling approach
  • Business-to-business sales experience, with preference for distribution experience and/or scientific background or laboratory/research environment work
  • Demonstrated capability to utilize best-in-class selling processes (e.g., SPIN, Challenger, Miller Heiman) and technology platforms including Salesforce.com and Qlikview
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations 5 days a week

  • Competitive compensation package with base salary range of $59,150.00 - $100,740.00 and target cash opportunity (TCO) of $98,600.00 - $167,900.00
