  • • As a Sales Specification Specialist at Cooper Lighting Solutions, a business unit of Signify, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of lighting by promoting innovative lighting solutions and ensuring Signify’s products are specified in key architectural and engineering projects across the Bajio region of Mexico. This role is critical to driving market adoption of Signify’s cutting-edge technologies, directly influencing design decisions that impact energy efficiency, sustainability, and smart infrastructure in homes, offices, and cities.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing and executing strategic sales plans tailored to your territory, prospecting new clients through cold-calling, networking, and industry event attendance, and conducting face-to-face visits to build trust and uncover opportunities. You will partner closely with sales and product teams to create customized proposals, technical presentations, and live demonstrations that align with client objectives and showcase Signify’s lighting innovations. Negotiating pricing, contract terms, and service agreements will be a core function, requiring you to balance margin protection with client satisfaction to successfully close deals.
  • • You will cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with architects, engineers, distributors, and specifier networks, serving as a trusted technical advisor who provides ongoing support, resolves issues, and anticipates evolving needs. A key part of your role involves monitoring industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies—such as IoT-enabled lighting, AI-driven controls, and sustainable design practices—to identify new product opportunities and inform Signify’s innovation pipeline.
  • • Achieving and exceeding sales targets will be central to your success, supported by disciplined pipeline management, accurate forecasting, and regular reporting on sales activities, opportunity stages, and performance metrics. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating across global teams, leveraging Signify’s 125+ year legacy and commitment to sustainability to position the company as a leader in connected and intelligent lighting solutions.
  • • The Bajio region—encompassing Guanajuato, Jalisco, and San Luis Potosí—is a dynamic economic hub with growing industrial, commercial, and residential development, offering significant potential for lighting specification influence. As a home-based role, you will enjoy flexibility while being expected to travel regularly within the region to engage clients, attend project meetings, and participate in trade shows or technical seminars.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, business, or a related field
  • • 4+ years of experience in lighting specification, architectural lighting design, or technical sales within the lighting industry, with proven relationships with specifiers and deep knowledge of lighting technologies
  • • Fluency in both Spanish and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills for effective client and internal stakeholder engagement
  • • Significant experience in technical sales, including working with distributors and managing direct sales cycles
  • • Availability to travel regularly within the Bajio region (Guanajuato, Jalisco, San Luis PotosĂ­) and ability to work remotely from Mexico
