- • Own and grow a profitable SBA 7(a) portfolio across San Diego County, sourcing new deals and deepening existing relationships with small-to-mid-size businesses in industries ranging from manufacturing and healthcare to professional services and hospitality.
- • Act as the face of Banner Bank in the local market—spending up to 50 % of your time in the field—building trust with referral partners such as CPAs, attorneys, brokers, economic-development councils, and chambers of commerce to generate a consistent pipeline of high-quality opportunities.
- • Lead the full credit lifecycle: from initial prospecting calls and needs analysis to structuring, underwriting, and negotiating loan terms that balance client objectives with Banner’s risk appetite and regulatory guidelines.
- • Prepare concise yet comprehensive credit memos and present recommendations to senior management and SBA loan committees, articulating borrower strengths, mitigating factors, industry trends, and repayment capacity.
- • Monitor portfolio performance through quarterly and annual reviews, covenant tracking, and cash-flow analysis, proactively identifying early warning signs and implementing corrective action plans to protect asset quality.
- • Stay ahead of ever-evolving SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), agency updates, and regulatory changes, translating complex rules into practical guidance for clients and internal partners to ensure 100 % compliance.
- • Collaborate with loan assistants, processors, closers, and SBA specialists to deliver an exceptional borrower experience—closing loans on time, minimizing documentation surprises, and turning clients into enthusiastic referral sources.
- • Drive brand awareness by hosting educational workshops, sponsoring community events, and serving on nonprofit boards, reinforcing Banner Bank’s 135-year reputation as a trusted financial partner committed to local prosperity.
- • Leverage Salesforce CRM and other fintech tools to track leads, forecast production, and generate data-driven insights that inform strategic decisions and quarterly business plans.
- • Mentor junior lenders and interns, sharing best practices in relationship building, credit structuring, and consultative selling to cultivate the next generation of Banner talent.
- • Contribute to product-development discussions, providing frontline feedback on market gaps and client pain points that could lead to new SBA or conventional lending solutions.
- • Achieve individual production goals tied to loan volume, revenue, and profitability while upholding Banner Bank’s core values: listen, learn, and help businesses and individuals reach their goals.
