📋 Description
- • XTIUM is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic, remote-first global team. This role is integral to our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement, offering a unique opportunity to grow your career within a supportive and forward-thinking organization. As a Senior Accountant, you will report directly to the Director of Accounting and play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. You will be entrusted with a wide array of responsibilities, providing you with extensive learning opportunities and professional development.
- • At XTIUM, we believe in empowering our employees. Our culture is built on collaboration, open communication, and a shared drive for success. We encourage embracing challenges, taking ownership of your work, and fostering a spirit of accountability. You will have direct access to our leadership team, opportunities to celebrate achievements, and the chance to make a tangible impact in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. If you are passionate, resilient, and eager to contribute to shaping the future of our company, XTIUM is the place where your potential can truly flourish.
- • Your core responsibilities will encompass the entire month-end closing process. This includes meticulously preparing journal entries, conducting in-depth analyses, and performing comprehensive account reconciliations to ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date. You will be expected to adhere to established processes and meet strict deadlines, contributing to the timely and efficient closing of our financial books each month.
- • A significant part of your role will involve performing monthly reconciliations for key Balance Sheet accounts, with a particular focus on Unbilled and Deferred Revenue. This requires a strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and their application within our business context.
- • You will leverage your strong practical knowledge of Profit Margins and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) analysis to provide critical insights into the financial performance of our projects and services. This analytical capability is essential for identifying trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- • You will work closely with the Director of Accounting, providing essential support for all monthly tasks and ad hoc projects. This collaborative relationship will allow you to gain broad exposure to various accounting functions and contribute to strategic financial initiatives.
- • A fundamental aspect of this role is the analytical approach you will bring to all tasks. You must possess a cogent conceptual understanding of both US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), applying these principles rigorously to your work.
- • You will play a key role in assisting with the preparation and testing for financial audits. This involves gathering documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring that our financial records are audit-ready and compliant with all regulatory requirements.
- • Maintaining adequate internal controls over financial processes is paramount. You will be responsible for ensuring that our control environment is robust and effective in preventing and detecting errors or fraud.
- • The role also requires you to complete ad hoc projects as needed. This demonstrates our commitment to providing a challenging and varied workload, allowing you to develop a diverse skill set and adapt to evolving business needs.
- • This position offers a significant opportunity to deepen your expertise in accounting, particularly within the technology sector. You will gain valuable experience in a multi-company environment, enhancing your understanding of complex financial structures and operations. Your ability to master new accounting systems quickly with minimal supervision will be a key factor in your success and growth within XTIUM.
