- • Wealth Enhancement Group, a leading independent wealth management firm dedicated to enriching clients' lives through innovative financial planning, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its dynamic Accounting team. This is a pivotal new role, offering a significant impact on complex technical accounting areas, including ASC 340-40, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) transactions, and crucial audit-related support. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), exceptional analytical capabilities, and the agility to collaborate effectively across departments in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- • This position is primarily remote, offering flexibility while requiring occasional presence at our headquarters in Plymouth, Minnesota, for specific needs. We believe in transparent compensation and are pleased to offer a base salary range of $90,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually, exclusive of bonuses and benefits. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply and share their compensation expectations, fostering an open dialogue about your career aspirations.
- • The core responsibilities of this Senior Accountant role are multifaceted and critical to the firm's financial integrity and strategic growth. A primary focus will be the meticulous management of ASC 340-40 (Deferred Costs Accounting). This involves maintaining comprehensive and accurate account reconciliations, performing precise monthly and quarterly calculations including amortization schedules and necessary true-ups, and preparing and recording all related journal entries. Ensuring organized, audit-ready support and documentation is paramount, alongside preparing and updating financial statement footnotes pertaining to ASC 340-40. A key aspect of this function is partnering closely with the Advisor Compensation team to guarantee accuracy, GAAP compliance, and to contribute to the automation of these critical processes.
- • Another significant area of responsibility lies in supporting M&A Transactions. This entails engaging with newly acquired teams to gain a thorough understanding of their billing processes, revenue models, and existing contracts. You will conduct detailed due diligence on transition-related financial and accounting items, proactively identifying gaps, risks, and necessary adjustments to enhance the financial onboarding process for acquired entities. Your role will be instrumental in supporting accurate and timely post-close financial reporting and serving as a vital accounting resource for cross-functional teams throughout the integration phases.
- • The Senior Accountant will also provide essential support for Technical Accounting functions. This includes conducting in-depth technical accounting research on complex or non-routine transactions, assisting in the drafting of technical accounting memos, and offering expert technical support during audits by providing comprehensive memos, documentation, and clear explanations of accounting conclusions. This role demands a proactive approach to staying abreast of evolving accounting standards and their application to the firm's unique business operations.
- • Furthermore, the position requires performing Ad Hoc Audit and Project Support. This involves providing timely and accurate support for both internal and external audit requests, assisting with special projects aimed at process improvement and the strengthening of internal controls, and collaborating effectively with various departments on one-off issues and strategic initiatives. Your contributions will directly influence the efficiency and robustness of the firm's financial operations and reporting.
- • The ideal candidate will bring 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with a CPA designation being highly preferred. A strong command of GAAP, including specific experience with ASC 340-40 and ideally ASC 718, is essential. Proficiency with accounting software such as Workday is preferred, alongside advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. The role demands strong analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently, manage multiple priorities effectively, and consistently meet deadlines. Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and strong documentation skills are crucial for success in this collaborative and impactful position.
