• • As a Senior Analyst, Technology Risk, you will be a critical member of the Technology Risk & Controls team, playing a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing our robust technology and security risk management program.
• • This role demands a creative and analytical mindset, focusing on the definition, quantification, management, and clear communication of risks to inform strategic business decisions.
• • You will serve as a subject matter expert in technology risk management operations, ensuring that risk frameworks are practical, adaptable, and effectively implemented for fast-moving technical teams operating across diverse global time zones.
• • Your primary responsibility will involve the in-depth analysis of multiple variables, including threat intelligence and identified risks, to develop and refine sophisticated threat models and risk scoring methodologies.
• • A key aspect of your role will be enabling risk-informed business outcomes by translating complex quantitative and qualitative risk data into clear, actionable insights for teams and leadership, facilitating well-grounded decision-making.
• • You will manage risks throughout their entire lifecycle, from initial intake and triage to detailed analysis and the calculation of inherent and residual risk, working collaboratively with subject matter experts and risk owners.
• • This includes facilitating agreement on risk treatment strategies, meticulously pressure-testing proposed solutions, and validating the execution of mitigation plans across various stakeholders.
• • Continuous monitoring of risk treatments and the effectiveness of implemented controls will be an ongoing responsibility.
• • You will be instrumental in reporting on the company's overall risk posture, supporting both synchronous and asynchronous reporting mechanisms for findings, key metrics, and recommended mitigations to business leadership.
• • This involves active participation in ad hoc and scheduled meetings with senior leadership and business risk owners to provide critical risk intelligence.
• • Maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the source of truth risk register is paramount; this includes performing quality control on data, providing support for risk management tooling, and actively implementing automation and process improvements to establish a solid baseline and drive iterative enhancements.
• • You will contribute to the development, execution, and maintenance of comprehensive communication and training plans to effectively roll out the technology risk program across the entire organization.
• • This includes maintaining essential team resources such as runbooks, internal team web pages, and risk register metrics dashboards to ensure consistent understanding and adoption.
• • Ensuring alignment with the broader Enterprise Risk Management framework is crucial; you will work closely with the ERM team to escalate identified risks through the enterprise risk register and report relevant metrics to senior leadership as required.
• • You will engage globally, collaborating with diverse stakeholders to scale the program’s risk framework across all Coinbase entities, products, and geographical markets.
• • Close collaboration with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) teams, Legal, and Compliance departments will be necessary to address risks, conduct assessments, and ensure reporting meets stringent regulatory requirements.
• • You will provide essential support for audits and regulatory inspections by compiling data and preparing responses to inquiries from US and international auditors and regulators.
• • Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of the industry landscape is vital; this includes staying abreast of international regulations, emerging threats, technological forecasts, evolving policies, and industry benchmarks.
• • You will execute comprehensive technical risk assessments across our production and corporate environments, enabling the team to articulate risk effectively in both qualitative and quantitative terms.
