📋 Description

• Design, build, and evolve high-performance backend services and APIs in Kotlin and Spring Boot, engineered for reliability, low latency, and massive scale.
• Own the full lifecycle of features for the Checkout Team’s core transaction processing engine, from technical design and implementation to monitoring and production operation.
• Develop and maintain checkout payment flows including authorization, capture, refunds, reversals, and partial payments across multiple payment providers and global regions.
• Architect and implement resilient microservices using event-driven patterns with Kafka and message queues to ensure zero data loss during asynchronous payment processing.
• Strengthen and expand the integration framework connecting Yuno to payment service providers (PSPs), acquirers, and gateways across diverse countries and complex payment rails.
• Apply OWASP principles and engineering best practices to ensure security, privacy, and full compliance with PCI-DSS standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Compliance, and Business teams to translate real-world payment challenges into scalable, elegant technical solutions.
• Actively participate in code reviews, architecture decisions, and technical discussions that shape the direction of the payment platform.
• Write clean, well-tested, production-ready code with a strong focus on quality, including unit, integration, and contract testing practices.
• Operate within a fast-paced, high-impact environment supporting millions of global payment transactions for brands like InDrive, McDonald's, Rappi, and Viva Aerobus.
• Work with a world-class engineering team to maintain and enhance a payment orchestrator that connects businesses to 300+ payment methods worldwide through a single integration.
• Contribute to a culture of technical excellence by continuously improving system performance, observability, and operational resilience.
• Utilize containerization and cloud infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS) to deploy and manage scalable backend systems.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD for automated deployment and version control via Git/GitHub.
• Leverage observability tooling such as Datadog and OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing and system monitoring.
• Model and manage financial data using relational databases like PostgreSQL with deep understanding of data integrity and transactional consistency.
• Ensure seamless integration with Redis for caching and low-latency data access in high-throughput payment scenarios.
• Work within a tech stack centered on Kotlin (primary), Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux, Apache Kafka, SQS, PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Datadog, and OpenTelemetry.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of professional backend development experience
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Spring Boot
• Deep expertise with payment processing concepts
• Experience building and operating microservices architectures
• Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar) and data modeling for financial systems
• Experience with containerization and cloud infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS or GCP)
