- • As a Senior Backend Engineer at Gorgias Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of conversational commerce. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying robust, scalable backend systems that power our AI-driven platform, serving over 16,000 merchants and 12 million shoppers globally.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to core components of our real-time communication, messaging, growth, in-app analytics, and streaming infrastructure teams. You will have the chance to work on challenging technical problems, from optimizing our ticket processing pipeline and developing asynchronous messaging infrastructure to building scalable data streaming platforms and ensuring a seamless user journey from onboarding to billing.
- • You will be responsible for designing features, APIs, and data models that handle massive amounts of data and traffic, ensuring high availability and performance. This involves a deep understanding of modern software design principles and the ability to architect complex product architectures.
- • Collaboration is key to our success. You will work closely with an engineering manager, a product manager, and a designer, as well as a team of seasoned senior engineers. You will also engage with other engineering teams within our rapidly growing department of over 100 engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and collective problem-solving.
- • This position emphasizes autonomy and ownership. You will be empowered to ship your features into production independently, taking full responsibility for their success from development through to deployment and monitoring.
- • A significant aspect of the role involves ensuring the reliability and performance of our systems. You will monitor the success of your deployments against defined criteria and actively participate in debugging, correcting issues, and providing incident response as part of a support and on-call rotation.
- • You will contribute to solving today’s most pressing technical challenges, focusing on making Gorgias’s platform and systems scale to accommodate an ever-increasing customer base and data volume. This includes optimizing existing systems and developing new solutions to meet future demands.
- • The role requires a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, considering real-world constraints and delivering high-quality, testable code. You will be expected to write clean, maintainable code that contributes to the long-term health and scalability of our platform.
