📋 Description

• • Architect and own the backbone of a decentralized food-delivery protocol that will soon process millions of orders per month. You will design fault-tolerant, horizontally-scalable services in TypeScript that orchestrate everything from menu ingestion to driver dispatch, ensuring sub-second latency and 99.9 % uptime.
• • Spearhead the integration roadmap for mission-critical partners such as Toast, Olo, Square, and Otter. Each integration is a green-field project where you model external APIs, build resilient retry and idempotency layers, implement financial reconciliation pipelines, and deliver self-healing connectors that degrade gracefully when third parties have incidents.
• • Run production like a product. You will define SLIs/SLOs, instrument distributed tracing, set up real-time alerting, and lead weekly incident reviews. Expect to be on-call one week per month, but also to automate yourself out of that rotation by building tooling that surfaces anomalies before customers notice.
• • Own the data layer end-to-end: from Postgres schema design and composite indexing to zero-downtime migrations with pg-roll, to query-plan audits that keep p95 read latency under 50 ms at 10 k rps. You will mentor the team on transactional consistency patterns and help choose when to leverage event sourcing vs. strict ACID guarantees.
• • Ship core marketplace algorithms that decide which driver gets which order in under 200 ms while balancing fairness, ETA accuracy, and batching efficiency. You will A/B test pricing models, fraud-risk scores, and real-time re-routing logic, turning data science prototypes into production-grade services.
• • Establish long-term architectural standards. You will write the ADRs that govern how we version APIs, how services discover each other, and how we enforce idempotency keys across a federated network of independent operators. Your code will be the reference implementation that other engineers copy.
• • Elevate the entire engineering org through relentless code reviews, pair programming, and internal tech talks. You will introduce property-based testing, lead guilds on domain-driven design, and create runbooks that turn tribal knowledge into executable documentation.
• • Collaborate daily with founders, product managers, and protocol engineers in a fully-remote, async-first culture. You will translate gnarly business constraints (e.g., cash-on-delivery settlements, tip allocation, local tax rules) into elegant service boundaries that can be forked and redeployed by any community operator.
