📋 Description

  • Are you a seasoned and strategic Senior Bid Manager with a proven track record of success in the IT services consultancy sector, particularly within the UK public sector? Methods, a leading £100M IT Services Consultancy with over 30 years of experience, is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented individual to join our growing team. We are dedicated to transforming the way the UK public sector operates by leveraging our expertise in digital transformation, cloud, data, and cyber security. As a Senior Bid Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our bid strategy, ensuring we secure high-value, impactful projects that align with our mission to drive positive change.
  • This is an exciting opportunity to lead complex, multi-million-pound bids from inception to submission. You will be instrumental in understanding client needs, developing compelling proposals, and coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver winning bids. Your strategic input will be crucial in identifying new opportunities, refining our value proposition, and ensuring our bids are not only compliant but also innovative and persuasive. You will work closely with our sales, technical, and delivery teams, fostering strong relationships and ensuring a cohesive approach to bid management.
  • Your responsibilities will encompass the full bid lifecycle. This includes meticulously analyzing tender documents (ITTs, RFPs, RFIs), identifying key requirements, risks, and opportunities. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive bid plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies. A significant part of your role will involve crafting persuasive and client-centric content, ensuring that our proposals clearly articulate our unique selling points, technical capabilities, and the value we bring to government departments and agencies. This will involve translating complex technical solutions into clear, concise, and compelling narratives that resonate with procurement professionals and stakeholders.
  • You will lead and motivate bid teams, which may include subject matter experts, technical architects, solution designers, commercial specialists, and delivery leads. Your ability to foster collaboration, drive accountability, and manage diverse personalities will be key to success. You will facilitate win/loss reviews, capturing lessons learned and implementing improvements to our bid processes and methodologies. This continuous improvement mindset is essential for maintaining our competitive edge.
  • A crucial aspect of this role is developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. You will engage with central government departments and agencies, understanding their challenges and strategic objectives. Internally, you will collaborate closely with the sales leadership, executive team, and operational departments to ensure alignment and secure necessary resources and buy-in for bids. Your commercial acumen will be vital in understanding contract terms, pricing strategies, and risk mitigation.
  • We are looking for someone who can not only manage the process but also contribute strategically to our go-to-market approach. This includes contributing to the development of reusable bid collateral, best practices, and knowledge management systems. You will be a thought leader in bid management, sharing your expertise and mentoring junior members of the team. Your ability to adapt to changing client requirements and market dynamics will be paramount.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the UK public sector procurement landscape, including frameworks like G-Cloud, DOS, and Crown Commercial Service (CCS) agreements. You will be adept at navigating the complexities of government tenders and possess a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all submissions. Your proactive approach, coupled with exceptional organizational and communication skills, will enable you to manage multiple high-stakes bids simultaneously, consistently delivering high-quality outcomes under pressure.
  • At Methods, we believe in empowering our people and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning. As a Senior Bid Manager, you will have the opportunity to shape our bid function, influence our strategic direction, and make a tangible impact on the success of our organization and the public services we support. This role offers significant career progression opportunities within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
