• Senior Claims Counsel at First American Financial Corporation is a pivotal in-house legal role focused on managing complex title insurance and escrow claims from investigation through resolution, offering attorneys the opportunity to exercise independent judgment, lead litigation strategy, and drive meaningful outcomes without the pressures of billable hours or business development.
• The role centers on end-to-end claim management: investigating factual and legal issues, determining coverage under title policies, assessing liability and defenses, negotiating settlements, managing litigation budgets, directing outside counsel, and representing the company in court, mediation, and trial proceedings to achieve final resolution.

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in good standing in at least one U.S. state
• 12+ years of legal experience with a strong focus on real estate law, including title insurance, escrow, liens, easements, encumbrances, and related insurance coverage matters
• Proven experience in claims handling, litigation, mediation, or arbitration, with demonstrated ability to manage caseloads, evaluate exposure, negotiate settlements, and direct outside counsel
