📋 Description
- • Plane Labs Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Content Marketer to own and elevate our content engine. This is a pivotal role where you will be instrumental in shaping Plane's narrative, driving discoverability, and fostering deeper engagement with our target audiences. As a key member of our growth-focused Marketing team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end content lifecycle, from initial strategy and editorial direction to hands-on execution and performance measurement. Our mission is to empower teams with the simplest, most delightful work management experience, and our vision is to become the WorkOS of the future. Content is not merely a publishing function at Plane; it is a critical growth lever that directly impacts self-serve (PLG) revenue and generates qualified pipeline for our Sales team.
- • In this role, you will develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy that spans the entire funnel, from Top-of-Funnel (TOFU) awareness to Mid-Funnel-of-Funnel (MOFU) consideration. You will be responsible for building repeatable content formats such as in-depth guides, compelling comparison pieces, authoritative industry pages, practical templates, and actionable playbooks. Maintaining a high editorial standard for clarity, accuracy, consistency, and value is paramount. You will collaborate closely with Product Growth to ensure content initiatives are tightly aligned with adoption targets and revenue goals, making every piece of content work harder for the business.
- • A significant focus of this role will be on SEO-driven pipeline generation. You will identify and target keywords and topics that directly map to user intent, such as terms related to switching platforms, self-hosting, finding alternatives, optimizing workflows, documentation needs, intake processes, and the integration of AI. Your content will be designed not just for traffic, but for conversion, aiming to attract users who are actively evaluating solutions like Plane. This includes a proactive approach to refreshing and consolidating existing content to maintain and enhance topical authority, ensuring our content remains relevant and impactful.
- • You will also play a crucial role in translating product updates and launches into accessible and benefit-driven content. This involves creating clear explanations of what has changed, who benefits from new features, and how these updates enhance the user experience. You will craft product-led content, including detailed feature explainers, practical use cases, workflow examples, and adoption guides. Furthermore, you will support launch kits by developing landing pages, email announcements, and compelling release narratives that resonate with our audience. A commitment to grounding all claims in demonstrable product capabilities, avoiding vague promises, will be essential.
- • Building customer proof and narrative assets is another key responsibility. You will produce high-quality case studies, gather impactful customer quotes, and develop persuasive proof blocks that significantly shorten the evaluation time for potential customers. By transforming customer wins and even common objections into reusable website and sales enablement assets, you will empower our Sales and Customer Success teams. Content designed to directly support enterprise evaluations, covering critical areas like security, deployment options, scalability, and governance, will be a core deliverable.
- • Distribution and repurposing of content will be a strategic imperative. You will excel at transforming a single, high-impact piece of content into multiple high-signal assets tailored for various channels, including social media, email newsletters, community forums, and documentation links. Establishing a consistent and compounding distribution rhythm across owned channels and community surfaces will be key. Close collaboration with the Design team for visuals that enhance comprehension and retention is expected. The goal is to build a publishing cadence that creates sustained momentum rather than sporadic spikes.
- • Measurement and iteration are fundamental to this role. You will track content performance beyond basic pageviews, focusing on metrics that matter, such as signups, PQL influence, and assisted conversions. Running content experiments across different angles, formats, landing pages, and comparison strategies will be encouraged. You will build robust reporting mechanisms that clearly tie content efforts to tangible business outcomes, using these insights to refine the content roadmap on a monthly basis. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to grow qualified organic traffic that converts into signups and PQLs, reduce evaluation friction through clearer comparisons and adoption content, build a scalable content system without compromising quality, and sharpen Plane's market positioning through strategic storytelling.
