- • Senior Corporate Counsel, Data Privacy role at Clario, a leader in endpoint data technology solutions for clinical research and part of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Clinical Research Group, responsible for overseeing global data privacy compliance and leading a team of data privacy attorneys.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include directing data privacy attorneys, managing data breach investigations and responses, leading responses to subject access requests and PII deletion requests, overseeing the Data Privacy Monitoring Program, providing privacy-by-design counsel for product development, managing review and negotiation of customer and third-party agreements, advising on international data transfers, supporting DPIAs, partnering with QA on audit-related inquiries, maintaining compliance documentation, developing privacy training content, updating policies and SOPs, monitoring global privacy law changes, and leading cross-functional meetings on privacy compliance.

- • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in global data privacy regulations including GDPR, PIPL, EU AI Act, and U.S. state laws, strengthen leadership and management skills by guiding a legal team, enhance strategic advisory capabilities for senior stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous improvement of a mature data privacy program in a highly regulated healthcare technology environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institution
- • Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
- • Minimum of 7 years of experience operationalizing compliance with global data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, PIPL, the EU AI Act, and U.S. state privacy and AI laws
- • Prior experience managing attorneys and/or non-attorney professionals with demonstrated leadership capability
- • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage senior leadership, customers, and vendors
- • Excellent legal judgment and business acumen with a pragmatic, risk-based approach
- • Ability to analyze complex data privacy laws and translate them into practical, implementable guidance
- • Proven ability to clearly explain complex legal concepts to non-legal audiences, both verbally and in writing
- • Comfort managing multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced environment
- • Superior attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills
- • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- • Experience working in healthcare or another highly regulated industry
- • Comfort advising on new technologies and handling sensitive data
