- • The Senior Customer Business Manager (CBM) at Unilever drives sustained business relationships and profitable sales volume with UNFI Conventional, one of the largest U.S. distributors, and their downstream retail customers in the Foods category.
- • Day to day, the role involves leading a 7-person dedicated broker team and cross-functional partners to deliver KPIs, leading near- and long-term Joint Business Planning (JBP), developing strategic platforms and growth drivers, and ensuring plans are resourced with synchronized spend and volume.
- • The position requires creating and operationalizing the UNFI Conventional customer strategy, including go-to-market plans, innovation execution, trade investment ROI, and integration of shopper marketing with merchandising plans.
- • The role also involves cross-functional leadership of operational delivery, including initiating growth platforms, forecasting, retail inventory management, supply chain compliance, and managing deductions and trade investment balance.
- • The role sits within Unilever’s Foods division and partners closely with Brand, Category Strategy & Planning, Business Development, and Sales Leadership teams to align on joint business targets and customer strategies.
- • In this role, the individual will develop expertise in CPG distributor dynamics, advanced trade promotion optimization, and strategic account management while influencing profitable growth at scale.
- • The position offers the opportunity to own P&L outcomes, sharpen financial and analytical acumen, and build executive-level communication skills through engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
- • Success in this role leads to measurable impact on market share, profitable volume, and return on customer investment, contributing directly to Unilever’s growth ambitions in the Foods portfolio.
🎯 Requirements
- • Undergraduate bachelor’s degree required
- • 7-10+ years of experience in CPG or Retail industry
- • Experience working with distributor networks and broker sales teams is a plus
- • Working knowledge of Nielsen/IRI, Evergreen, and Customer POS Data is strongly desired
- • Ability to build strong relationships with multiple levels of management internally and externally
- • Strong financial and business acumen, including P&L ownership, customer planning, and analytical skills
